Reviews Summary

Mastro Ciccio is celebrated for its innovative and delicious Puglian street food, especially its legendary octopus sandwich. Diners rave about the fresh, local ingredients and authentic flavors, though some note the fast-food atmosphere and potential for high sodium content. It's considered a must-visit for a taste of Bari.

"We had an amazing experience here! The food was absolutely delicious — everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it even better. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. A great taste of local flavor!"

LMSM

"It’s quite famous in Bari, but we were a bit hesitate to try, as it looks quite heavy. Finally we decided to try before leaving . Lunch time during week days was not busy, during night, we saw quite crowded when we passed by several times. First bite was quite impressive, as crunchy and hot. But it’s a heavy burger 😅and when it’s getting cold, then it went flat, I thought it’s spicy, as this shop also has own chili paste. Anyway worth to try."

becky cheng

"A fresh of breath air in the fast food department. Delicious food and short waiting time even though the queue was pretty long. If You like octopus, the U Pulp sandwich is amazing."

This is an excellent, authentic spot for more, great street food. Particularly well known for ‘U Pulp’ (polpo panino – Octopus in a bun). Slow cooked in a terracotta pignata, with fresh tomato, garlic, bay leaf and parsley and served with burrata, sun dried dried tomato, for depth of flavour and a touch of sweetness, salted corn crumble, rocket and finished with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a sprinkle of black pepper.

My favorite place for Panzerotti is at Mastro Ciccio, which is found at: Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 15. You will need to navigate past the very impressive octopus sandwich before arriving at the Panzerotti. I tried the Criminale, which is a bit spicy and loaded with cheese and onions, but if you don’t like spicy, there are other options that include: Mozzarella, Beef, Pork and Octopus.
