My parents love this extremely local restaurant located in the heart of the Marina historic district in Cagliari, and after having visited with them just yesterday, I must say they have a valid point. This is one of Cagliari’s most famous local seafood trattorie. It’s a small family run place where the interior (a bit dark, to be fair) is completely decorated with photos of Italian football legend Gigi Riva, who lived in Cagliari and was a regular at this restaurant, to the point that he had his own table (the one pictured above).

Tutti i ristoranti di Cagliari propongono principalmente piatti a base di pesce (sono specializzati anche nella cucina della carne ad esempio il porceddu) come la sa burrida (pesce gatto in salsa) e la fregula cun cocciula (sorta di cous cous con le cocciula, vongole e cozzas a schiscionera).

Many food connoisseurs boast of the family-run restaurant La stella Marina di Monte Cristo. Lots of good fish dishes and other seafood. The prices are quite high, but the quality is even higher.
