What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Osteria del Ghetto is praised for its authentic Ferrara and Jewish-inspired cuisine, served in a cozy, art-filled atmosphere. Diners highlight the friendly and attentive service, often from the owner herself, and commend the delicious food made with care. While many rave about the traditional dishes and outstanding desserts, a few reviews mention smaller portion sizes for the price or dishes that didn't fully meet expectations.
"What a lovely experience this was. A little off the beaten path in Ferrara, maybe more of a local favourite than something tourists will typically seek out but definitely a place you'd regret missing. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, with artwork on the wall and the old wooden ceiling above. I chose a melanzane as starter and tortellini in brodo for my main. Both were super tasty, made with care and passion. It's amazing how the food made me feel at home immediately.
Service was friendly, quick and attentive. Tried my best at using Italian instead of English and they were very patient with my efforts. Much appreciated."

"Friendly and caring service and great food. My risotto with green peas was amazing, the grilled octopus as well. Leave some space for desserts!"

Northern Italy Road Trip: Ferrara
We did some menu-reading during our stroll around town and settled on Osteria del Ghetto for our evening feeding. Run by a cute old couple, the restaurant was decorated with some very wacky art. The food made us very happy: artichoke salad, grilled scamorza and vegetables, orata with fennel, artichokes, and saffron.
