What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Divina Pizza is celebrated for its exceptional sourdough pizza, featuring unique artisanal toppings and high-quality, organic ingredients. Diners rave about the passionate and friendly owners, particularly Roberta, who contribute to a warm and memorable experience. While the pizza is consistently praised as some of the best in Italy, some reviews mention potential wait times due to the small team, and one noted an uncomfortable waiting experience outside.
"Decided to take pizza as our dinner.
Order 1 round pizza with ham and 1 more 1 slice pizza with onion & truffle.
Need to wait quite long time due to only 3 persons running the show and surprise the taste dam good.
So far this is the best pizza that I have in Italy.
Can give it a try if you passby."

"Despite great google reviews I was initially a bit sceptical, as their pizzas on display at the counter didn’t look appealing to me. However, we decided to give it a shot and ordered two pizzas for takeaway. The pizzas turned out to be fantastic. The rustic dough was especially memorable, with a wonderful chewy texture, the toppings and combinations of the flavours were delicious.
The only thing - while they prepared our order, we weren’t allowed to sit inside, even though all the tables were empty. Waiting outside in the cold was a bit uncomfortable, which took away from the overall experience."

"This is my second time that I dined at La Divina Pizza in Florence. Both times I ordered the aubergine, bacon, and rosemary pizza. It is truly divine! The owners are kind and very friendly. They had some great wine options as well."

The venue, suitable for a quick break with "pizza alla pala" (a type of Roman-style pizza), is the brainchild of Graziano Monogrammi and his wife Roberta, who opened the establishment in 2010, immediately bringing it to high standards. The dough is prepared with stone-ground wholemeal flours and leavened with sourdough, undergoing a fermentation process lasting between 24 to 36 hours. The "pizza alla pala" offers unusual proposals such as the Chianti Scent, with onions cooked in red wine and Alpine Gorgonzola, or the Toscana, with soppressata, artichoke cream, and lime zest.

Though you’ll have no issue finding amazing and authentic pizza throughout Italy, this award-winning restaurant is among some of the best in Florence and is worth the stop. Only using natural mother yeast, La Divina Pizza, creates the best selection of pizzas to choose from. You can eat there if you like, but there's not much space, or you can take your pizza home with you. The beauty of La Divina is that you can choose a number of different pieces so that you are able to try more than one, if not, all of the pizzas they offer that day.

Personally prefer La Divina Pizza to Gabriele Bonci’s Pizzarium in Rome. Il Vecchio e Il Mare off Via Gioberti does award-winning Neapolitan pizzas with notable seafood dishes.
