Reviews Summary

La Ménagère is celebrated for its stunning, whimsical ambiance and its unique concept as a bistro combined with a flower and homeware shop. Guests rave about the beautiful interior, the relaxing atmosphere, and the creative cocktails. However, some diners have noted that the food can be inconsistent and overpriced for the quality, with one review specifically mentioning slow service and cold dishes.

"This place was located in the middle of our way from and to the hotel, and we thought to stop by and have a quick Cappuccino, especially in the outdoor seating in the nice cold weather.

For note, the interior decoration is such a great looking and spacious.

They do offer more than a coffee, they serve croissants and other bakeries, prepare and serve food throughout the day from early breakfast to lunch till late dinner. They sell many selected nice decoration parts and other nice stuff.

The place is a one stop for all day needs and enjoying a lovely seating.

Thanks to the team, the service attendant for his constant follow ups and the owner for bringing to the customers such a great place.

Will come again."

Ahmed Jaber

"We came here for breakfast and we absolutely enjoyed it. We sat at one of the patio tables, and my husband had the Eggs Benedict, and I had the Fresh Fruit with Pancakes with Maple Syrup. The food was both fresh and delicious. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxing and enjoyable. It has been one of our favorite restaurants we visited on our vacation."

Cher Wil

"We had an amazing dinner at La Ménagère — everything from start to finish was perfect. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, making us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere is stunning, with a beautifully curated interior that blends elegance and creativity — we especially loved the charming flower shop inside, which added such a unique and romantic touch. It’s the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, and we left with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!"

Hobnob with fashionistas over all-day drinks, gourmet food and late-night jazz at this stalwart of a weekend hangout in a 16th-century San Lorenzo palazzo – the crowd tumbling out onto Via di Ginori marks the spot. Fresh flowers, beautiful books and homewares to buy inject a serious dose of urban chic, and the whimsical, rose-filled porch is prime "see and be seen" terrain. Long and lazy breakfasts to fine dining after dark, wrapped up with sassy cocktails in the basement speakeasy: La Ménagère caters to every meal and moment.

The open, airy greenhouse vibe makes this bistro bar a perennial favourite in the busy San Lorenzo neighbourhood. Here, you’ll find city residents, students and visitors clustered at small tables on the covered indoor/outdoor patio, chatting and slowly sipping a spritz at aperitivo hour. Elegant and vibrant, it’s a great spot for snacks throughout the day and drinks into the late evening.

Welcome to La Menagère, a whimsical haven for the discerning traveler seeking mouthwatering sustenance and aesthetic delight in the heart of Florence. Nestled in a former bustling hardware store, this culinary haven seamlessly combines café, restaurant, and flower shop - an intriguing trifecta that makes one ponder Picasso's lost flower bouquet recipes. As you explore the labyrinthine space, you'll find yourself embarking on a gastronomical Odyssey, faced with the delightful dilemma of choosing between their delectable array of Mediterranean treats or saying, "Screw it, I'll just sit in the flower-filled corner and inhale their beauty while sipping the divine nectar of brews.

New restaurant openings in Florence: November 2021

If there were a prize for the sexiest locale in Florence, La Ménagère (via de’ Ginori 8R) would likely win it hands down… and in a bathrobe. Having closed for several months for a reinvestment and makeover, the classy joint was packed as soon as the weighty industrial-style door reopened. (Seriously, a bouncer was managing the queue the first Sunday.) A bowl of spaghetti with a dusting of bottarga might set you back 18 euro, but this is The Place To Be Seen as the design conscious and Florentines with sprezzatura while away hours in a medley of alluring corners, from the dimly lit games room to the extra-long table and plush bar-side banquettes.

In a slightly secluded street from the main tourist flow, it is a delightful place that attracts from the first glance due to the beauty of the environment, the in-house flower shop, unusual furnishings, the smokehouse in the basement, and the opening from the morning for breakfast: then easy lunch, dinner at the restaurant spread across several spaces with a special atmosphere, and finally the cocktail bar. If desired, you can book the private room or the Chef's table. The evening menu is varied, with inspiration from classic French cuisine and well-executed fusion dishes.

Menagere is open from early morning til past midnight so you could literally spend the whole day in this gorgeous space that blends modern interior design with rustic bare walls and Renaissance arches like only a Florentine location can do!. While most of the space is reserved for lunch and dinner (or the flower and homeware shop) there is a more casual corner where you can hang out with a friend and get some work done and they also have some tables outside where I often find freelancers and students bent over laptops and sipping on coffee or green juice.

This places oozes cool with its crittall windows, arched vaulted ceilings, its mismatched lamp shades and stone flooring. It’s one of those concept stores that gives you the option to buy all manner of wonderful things – whether its some beautiful flowers, music, a pastry and coffee, breakfast or perhaps a more refined evening meal. Whilst we did not eat here, it goes on the list as it is very different from anything else I saw in Florence and is a good place to have a pre-dinner cocktail or a coffee and watch the world go by.
