"Best Meal I had in ALL OF FLORENCE 🤌🏼
Small window (12pm-3pm) and there was a line before 12pm but it made it all worth it. I love the exclusivity. Not a gimmick tourist trap at all. Literally next to the leather market."

"We loved everything about this place! We thought that the portions would be really small but they were actually a great size! They dont take reservations but they are so efficient and got us a table really quickly! The pasta dishes were delicious and the meat as well! Definitely a great spot to try out!"

"Lunch only, best trattoria in Firenze.
My wife and I first came here from a recommendation in 2012 and had a memorable meal. We have returned to Florence just to let our kids taste this restaurants Florentine steak and it did not disappoint.
The perfectly cooked steak with strong charring is hard to compare to other restaurants. Our steak was 1.1kg and fed 3 of us with a side of fries for the kids.
Tearattoria Sergio Gozzi has been operating since 1915 and the restaurant charm is the simplicity and authenticity of Tuscany.
Service charge is €2/person and we'll worth it"

The 26 best Florence restaurants
A homely, lunch-only spot located in the crowded San Lorenzo market area, this gem of a place is popular with both tourists and locals. The Gozzi family have been doling out Florentine and Tuscan specialities since 1915, and the décor (white walls hung with paintings, white linen cloths on rustic tables, a 'banco' at the entrance) seems to have changed little since then. The menu varies somewhat with the seasons but is staunchly traditional; robust bean and black cabbage soup or ribollita, pasta with simple tomato sauce, 'peposo' (a tasty beef stew laced with black pepper) and succulent arista (roast pork).
Restaurants in Florence
This restaurant just across from the Basilica of San Lorenzo and run by the Gozzi family since 1915 serves food that's as delicious as it is affordable. The short menu changes daily, though the lombatina alla griglia (grilled veal T-bone steak) is almost always available, and meat eaters should not miss it. Pastas are equally terrific.

Insider tips on where to eat, shop and explore in Florence
Slinging soup since 1915, Gozzi has gone from an incredibly underrated and often overlooked trattoria to something of a tourist darling. Known by locals simply as ‘Da Gozzi,’ this is a place where the potatoes are peeled and sliced fresh daily, and where the same locals eat lunch every day. Yes, it has become a bit busy in recent years, but its owners, fourth-generation Gozzi brothers, Andrea and Alessandro, are still dedicated to serving traditional Tuscan dishes – no pizza or lasagna in sight.

A rare relic of old Florence in the heart of the city, Trattoria Sergio Gozzi is the sort of no-frills trattoria where time seems to have stood still for several decades. The menu is printed with the day’s date, proving that, yes, everything is indeed ultra-fresh and seasonal. Where to Eat Bistecca Fiorentina in Florence - A Local’s Favorite Steakhouses
Trattoria Sergio Gozzi is my top pick for eating bistecca fiorentina in Florence in a casual setting at lunch time (they are not open for dinner). This easy going trattoria doesn’t get more Florentine than this with a handwritten menu that is posted daily and it’s no-frills service. The decor is simple, the tables are set with paper placemats and wine can be ordered either by the bottle or housewine by ¼, ½, or 1 liters.

It’s easy to miss this historic restaurant, neatly wedged between the leather shops in San Lorenzo, whose bold handbags and coats disturb your vision. But venture inside to find a traditional trattoria that has been serving hearty Tuscan dishes of warming ribollita (bread soup), purpose (stewed beef), and Coniglio (rabbit) since 1915.
