"I ordered the lasagne. And it was pretty mid. There were clumps of meat, rather than a consistent layer. The bottom layer of pasta was really tough, I struggled to cut through it and eventually just gave up and ate around it. The lasagne was missing flavour, chewing felt like a chore.
Even the complimentary bread they give before your food was tough. It was hard and I was practically gnawing it off, and it looked and tasted store bought. Cheap is the word that comes to mind.
My friend had the pesto penne pasta. She said it was alright, I tried it myself and it tasted quite plain and one-dimensional. Doesn’t stand out. Mid.
I ordered coke as well. The first cup came from the tap I think. It tasted very flat, barely any bubbles and just didn’t taste like the Coca Cola I know. After the first sip, it tastes like water. Had to order a bottle of coke from the fridge and it was more fizzy but couldn’t make up for the off-putting experience of the first cup of coke. It’s a minor thing but when you get your drinks served first and it’s very sip/bite someone has, it just leaves a bad taste and suddenly I stopped being excited for my meal.
The service was decent.
One of the waitress, an older lady, stopped by my table, looked at my half eaten lasagne and gave me a disappointed look which felt quite personal and judgemental. I was confused at first what she wanted so I eventually told her we’re not finished and she left. But truth be told, I couldn’t stomach another bite of my bland, plain tasting food.
I’m giving the food one star because the portion size was decent in relation to the price I paid. My lasagne was €9,50.
Perhaps I got a bad batch or they were having an off day or I should have ordered something else. Regardless, judging by the size of their menu, I think it’s possible they’ve stretched themselves too thin. Quality>quantity always."
