Reviews Summary

La Bottega del Carmine offers a sophisticated dining experience with a spectacular hidden garden and excellent service. Many praise the unique culinary creations, particularly the seafood and the tasting menu by Chef Angelo Genna. However, some diners have found the food disappointing with limited non-seafood options and occasional preparation issues. The service, while generally friendly, can be slow, especially during peak hours.

"There are just a few restaurants in Trapani and province where we like to go because the majority of them propose the same type of food in a sort of copy and paste style. We have been impressed by the culinary skills and style of chef Angelo Genna before, so when we heard he was going to collaborate with La Bottega del Carmine we booked a table immediately. We both chose the 5 course tasting menu which each course paired with a different wine. Each course was gorgeous in which local ingredients were cooked, combined and presented in such an unusual and yet outstanding way that it is like we have been taken into a fantastic journey where flavours and textures are designed to please you.
We will definitely be back."

"What a beautiful restaurant. The portions were generous and thoughtfully prepared. My only criticism with the food is that there are very limited non-seafood choices.
Every thing about the restaurant was sophisticated and the dining area, hidden out the back, is spectacular."

Helen

"This place is unfortunately absolutely not worthy of 4.4 stars

- we were 11 people and NO ONE liked their food, everything was at best “mediocre”. Don’t eat anything with tuna - they really don’t know how to prepare that. The 16€ “variations of tuna” Appetizer was underwhelming. Let alone the potatoes were very tasty (the only thing)

- we were the only table in there (came early). Nonetheless the waiters forgot things we ordered, weren’t really attentive and came across a bit amateur

- interior seems nice at first, but its quite cheap, there are much nicer places in the city, where you can sit outside etc

- very subjective, but the music is horrendous (cheap, tacky beach house style)

- almost no veggie options (the pasta Alla Norma we got in the end was a 3/10)

Sorry, we all wished we could have liked it more."

Where to eat and drink in Marsala

We had our last meal in Marsala at La Bottega del Carmine, which was located about a 2 minute walk from our hotel – handy!. From the outside it looks very unassuming as all the tables are actually right at the back in a big garden. And to be honest, the photos they have outside don’t do it justice.
