Looking for a truly magical lunch place in Tuscany? Go to Locanda Demetra on the outskirts of Montalcino. The views were so breathtaking and the beautiful vegetable garden so calming and peaceful, I forgot to take videos of the amazing homecooked dishes and pretty little terrace. They even make their own pasta (you can watch it being prepared in their kitchen) and serve their own red wine, produce...

An intimate dinner at the idyllic @locandademetra above Montalcino, with music, wine, and watercolor. I was brought along to paint portraits of each guest as the sun set and the stories flowed. I found out one of the couples owns a home in the Bahamas. They visit often, love the island life, and are now planning a private community close by. #LuxuryEventsItaly #TravelingArtist #DestinationEvent #I...

Reviews Summary

Locanda Demetra is highly praised for its authentic Tuscan experience, offering incredible food, breathtaking views, and a warm, family-like atmosphere. Diners rave about the cooking classes and the farm-fresh ingredients. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some minor comments suggest that the tasting menus, especially on weekends, can be quite filling.

"The cooking class is a MUST if you are visiting this area. The entire experience is so incredible. Alessandro has a fun and engaging personality. During class, he will share his and his family’s life story with you, while also making a point to get to know each person in his class. This really makes the experience feel personal and authentic. The class itself was a blast - very educational, entertaining, clean, and organized. The food was really delicious and the views at the property are spectacular. We were able to take home enough leftovers for a full dinner that night. Cannot recommend this experience highly enough!!"

"A beautiful place with a stunning view. The family running the school were so much fun to be around. They made everyone feel welcome and accommodated. The class was incredible and relaxed. The entire group felt as ease and enjoyed every minute.

Would definitely recommend to anyone. Our group was of all ages including my 12 year old who loved it."

"One of the best restaurants I've ever dined in in my entire life and I don't say this lightly, just check my Google reviews. Food is fresh, staff are amazingly friendly and the atmosphere is lovely. If you are visiting in area, this is a must come.

Thank you so much for the hospitality!"

Locanda Demetra - This little hill top restaurant that overlooks the vineyards of Montalcino is a local hotspot. They offer lunch and dinner for small groups of max 20 people so if you want to get in, I recommend booking it in advance. Since the restaurant isn’t really in town, you would only really find out about it if it was recommend to you by a local - but its great!.
