"This place was one of our favorite dining stops in Cinque Terre!
The restaurant was recommended to us from the place we were staying at (a Ca da Alba). Very charming place in the heart of Monterosso with outdoor seating. We wanted to try the pesto (the region is known for it) and anchovies and we were not disappointed!
The anchovy appetizer was fresh and delicious. I do not like the way anchovies are prepared in the U.S. and this was a whole different experience. It was perfect with a little squeeze of lemon. We also loved our dishes. My husband got the local specialty trofie pasta with pesto- which was our favorite. I got the gnocchi pesto which was also very good.
Overall, we really loved this place. A great local spot for Monterosso!"

"Tucked in a side alley this place was an accidental find in Cinque Terre, Monterosso al Mare. As we were walking by we noticed the patrons were really enjoying their meal. The hostesses invited us in and we are glad we accepted. For a busy tourist place you would expect something mediocre and pricey but this here was a wonderful surprise the food and service were excellent. We were given a table in the alley which we preferred as we could do some people watching 😁 as we ate our DELICIOUS and FRESH seafood and sipped on the drinks. Mixed seafood salad and a seafood pasta were the dishes of our choice.The hostesses / manager owner were very pleasant, attentive and quick to serve and clear up, not pushy and let us chill . For a high tourist traffic area the prices were very reasonable."

Dinner was between Ristorante Belvedere or Ristorante Al Carugio. We chose Ristorante Al Carugio because it was cuter. And even though the trofie pasta with pesto was no match to Bar Ristorante Il Casello, the anchovies and regional specialty, minestrone soup, hit the spot for me.

06/06/2025: This is THE family ristorante you need to visit. Delicious food, oh my God and the Bolognese sauce we had to get a side dish for dipping the bread in. You will make a pilgrimage here to get the stuffed muscles.
