Reviews Summary

Trattoria dell'Orso is praised for its authentic Umbrian cuisine, particularly its truffle dishes and traditional pastas like wild boar ragu. Diners often highlight the delicious homemade desserts, especially the tiramisu. However, some reviews mention inconsistent service and occasional issues with food preparation or presentation, with one reviewer noting a disappointing experience with rude staff and a poor table view.

"Amazing Restaurant!
What an amazing little place off the beaten path! Being vegetarian there were a good choice of items on the menu. The truffle pasta was absolutely amazing, as well as the tomato bruschetta!
Be sure to get one of their fantastic desserts. We had the tiramisu and pistachio semifreddo, along with the l'orvietan amaro. Which we ended up buying a few bottles at a local shop.
The service was impeccable. A must if you visit Orvieto!"

"idk where my selections went but dine in | lunch | 10-20 euro per person
we got tomato basil cheese, cheese pepper, truffle mushroom pasta and soup zuppa
the cheese pepper was a bit too cheesy and i think the tomato one was slightly unflavourful everything was alright tho"

"This restaurant was recommended by both our accommodation hosts and by a good friend who is a long time visitor to Orvieto. We made a reservation earlier in the day to ensure we could secure an outdoor table. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. My lovely described the lamb as “Bellissimo”. Cooked to perfection. Having completed the tour of the Orvieto Underground earlier in our visit I finally took the plunge and ordered the local delicacy - piccione (pigeon). It was cooked well and I am glad to have had the experience. The house red was more than acceptable - a lovely drop. With the visit."

The Best Restaurants In Orvieto, Italy

Umbrian cuisine is reassuringly Italian: rich, indulgent and heavy. This place, located down a picturesque alley off an unassuming piazza, plays to those strengths with rustic decor, a warm welcome and traditional grub. Order the rabbit stewed with peppers or the tagliatelle in wild boar sauce, after a very generous antipasti board to warm up your stomach.

Trattoria dell’Orso – This was the first place we stopped after rolling into town. It is located at Via della Misericordia, 18, and it is open for lunch and dinner. We love traditionally prepared food and when we travel we look for dishes and wine that are local, and this restaurant has both.
