@visit__sicily 🎥I visited a pastry shop inside a convent in the heart of Palermo, run by nuns who keep the tradition alive. They’re known for their incredible cannoli, and trust me, they were delicious #sicily🇮🇹

Reviews Summary

Le Angeliche offers a beautiful dining experience with its romantic garden and stylish ambiance, praised for its fresh, modern takes on Sicilian cuisine and attentive service. While many rave about the unique flavors and charming atmosphere, some find the prices high for the portion sizes or menu variety, and occasional minor issues like insects or smokers have been noted.

"Everything was just perfect! The dishes were super special, with fresh ingredients and very delicious.

Loved the quite atmosphere und the lovely service."

Hannah

"This was probably our most expensive meal in our 3 week tour of Sicily. The restaurant had been recommended by our host and was within easy walking distance of our accommodation. From the outside, it looked interesting. We got a seat outside and to be honest, the menu (especially for vegetarians) was a bit limited. While the food was satisfactory, it's arguable as to whether it merited such a high price tag. Disappointing,"

Joe Sidonio

"Hidden in a small ally. Tasty, modernized and curated Italian food (less traditional). It was nice to sit in the back yard and enjoy the quietness and breeze. Although occasionally tiny insects might land into the dish and water. (It was 40 euro for me)"

The 16 Best Restaurants In Palermo - Palermo

The recipes for everything down to the desserts at this warm, stylish, women-owned Sicilian bistro come from small towns in the region of Sicily. That means you might find salamureci gazpacho or couscous from Trapani, casatelle di Montevago, ricotta gelato-filled bacio pantesco, and semolina-filled mostaccioli—all recipes that the chef learned about while traveling and cooking with elderly locals. Le Angeliche is hidden on a backstreet in the Mercato del Capo, and you won’t stumble upon it unless you’re looking.

The Ultimate Palermo Travel Guide: The Best Of Sicily (2024)

Le Angeliche is a super cute little restaurant just off of Mercato del Capo, with a even more beautiful courtyard out the back strung with lights. I had hoped for their aubergine parmigiana after reading about how good it was beforehand, but their menu changes daily according to local ingredients so I missed out. It’s a bit pricier and the food a bit fancier than I’m used to in all honesty, but I think people will like it; it feels quite romantic, so maybe one for the couples or a special occasion.

The Hip Local's Guide to Palermo

Le Angeliche – In a secluded corner of the bustling Mercato di Capo, four young Sicilian women opened this bistro where the fish, meat, and vegetables come from the market and the dried goods from local producers. More than just fresh ingredients and menu inspiration, the market is an opportunity to live the tradition of the Arab Souk, where the market is the center of social and business affairs.
