What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about the authentic, homemade taste of Sicilian cuisine and the generous portions offered at fair prices, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere. While the food is consistently praised, some visitors note occasional long waits due to the small kitchen staff and one review mentioned a negative experience with food quality potentially leading to illness. The overall sentiment is highly positive, emphasizing value and genuine flavors.
"Most likely, the food will have to wait here, but it's worth it! Generous portions and everything is very, very tasty.
The Sicilian salad with herring and orange impressed me with its unusual refreshing taste. The grilled seafood was toasted perfectly. All three of us were very satisfied with our dishes. And what a delicious Tiramisu it was!
At the same time, the prices are lower than on the main street, we paid 85€ for 3 persons, with beer, a cocktail and a dessert. The service fee was not included in the receipt, which we liked, and we were happy to leave a tip. We would come back here again!"

"Edit: the rose wine this time was extremely bad. The food, not as extraordinary as the first time.
The truth is this place fully lives up to its name. The feeling is you dropped by a friends house and their Nonna or Zia is cooking dinner and you just join them on a regular Friday evening. I guess what I am trying to say :) is that we absolutely enjoyed our lunch here, it was exactly what we were looking for in Palermo for some time with all its perfections and imperfections.
The rose house wine was like a fresh grape juice with beautiful colour and tiny hint of sweetness.
The dishes are spectacular and very much feel like home made.
Any sort of fish/sea food we tried was VERY fresh.
The rolled eggplant is fantastic and a must try.
Very friendly with kids."

"After traveling for a week in Sicily and being treated rudely by waiters several times, we are very happy to have found this place with outstanding service! Even though there was only one man who seems to be the owner working, he was attentive and meticulous. The food was good for the price we paid. We were happy and satisfied after the meal."

Best Restaurants In Palermo
The Sicilians know a thing or two about seafood from the Mediterranean, something which Odori E Sapori Al Vecchio Monte proves to me time and time again. Conveniently located near the heart of Palermo’s historical district, Kalsa, this quaint trattoria spot always has a warm and homely atmosphere. Their Palermitan-inspired menu is extensive, but I’ve yet to try anything here that the team hasn’t perfected.
