Si tratta di un antico locale che da secoli ospita viaggiatori e abitanti della città.Il locale deve il suo nome ai tempi della duchessa Maria Luigia, quando i corrieri sostavano in questa locanda per mangiare e far riposare i cavalli. Alla Trattoria Corrieri si rispettano ancora oggi le ricette tradizionali di Parma e si valorizzano i sapori tipici del territorio.

The Trattoria Corrieri is well-known in Parma cuisine, located in Strada Conservatorio, in the historic centre of the “little Paris”. It is a rustic restaurant with stone columns and wide white walls: the perfect location for dinner with friends or family. From the nineteenth century onwards, couriers who travelled on horseback would stop here for a break and to eat, and so even today, the restaurant has tried to maintain as much as it can of this history.

The original sign cherishes the atmosphere of the old trattoria where couriers used to stop to eat and let horses rest. A few centuries later, Trattoria Corrieri still feeds locals and travelers with traditional recipes. Try the home-made pasta or go straight to the meaty second courses like punta ripiena, a stuffed veal breast, or vecchia di cavallo, minced horse meat with potatoes and tomatoes.

The rustic interior provides a cosy backdrop for enjoying genuine Parmigiana cuisine. Their menu highlights Parmigiana classics expertly executed like prosciutto crudo plates, pumpkin tortellini with sage and butter, and delicate veal Milanese.

My first choice for dinner options was most definitely Ai Due Pianaeti which everyone who has been to Parma has raved about. We didn’t get a spot despite my repeated calls and choice an option in the center, the pretty Trattoria Corrieri. The warm friendly ambiance made us happy campers and we sat in a dining room full of fellow pasta-lovers and proceeded to over order.

Their Torta Fritta is light, crispy, and perfectly paired with a variety of local meats. The restaurant’s long history and dedication to quality make it a popular choice among both locals and tourists.

This restaurant is located right in the city center and has a decent amount of outside seating, which is always a plus for us!. We ended up eating Parmigiano Reggiano, Prosciutto di Parma and torta fritta again, because we just couldn’t help ourselves. We also shared tagliolini al culatello, which was pretty good as well.

One of my favorite restaurant in Parma when I feel like eating local food or when family and friends came to visit. The dining room is traditional and simple, makes you immediately feel like home. It is located right in the heart of Parma, close to Via Mazzini.

Both Trattoria Corrieri and Trattoria Tribunale are famous, show up in all the guides, are located right in the center, and are pretty bad. They may have been good at one point, but now they just churn out food for tourists.

Among the oldest trattorias in Parma, we recommend the Trattoria Salumeria Sorelle Picchi and the Trattoria Corrieri, where the traditional recipes are respected to the very fine details.

The tastiest version I tried was at Trattoria die Corrieri (Str. Conservatorio, 1, 43100 Parma), where the pumpkin filling was accented with warm spices.
