"We picked this restaurant as our last dinner in Sicily and we were not disappointed!😊
The restaurant is nicely decorated with bright color which gives a Mediterranean vibe. However the food is more a French fusion.
We were generally impressed by the food. The grilled octopus was delicious and the duck breast was well prepared as well. I highly recommend the shrimp tempura as well!
The waiters spoke perfect French and Italian and were very helpful!
There was no cocktail menu but the restaurant is able to prepare basic cocktails.
I’d recommend this place if you look for a family friendly restaurant with cozy atmosphere."

"I really enjoyed having dinner at this place. The food was delicious, the service delightful and the atmosphere very visually entertaining. I would give kudos also for the cleanliness of the place. For me, it was a bit expensive, but compared to the zone's price range it's not that pricy."

"Really amazing food. I went there 3 times during my stay.
The gazpacho burratta soup, was like a hug to the soul!
Really loved their Lamb Shank too, and lamb is very rare in the restaurants around as they are mostly seafood .
Really friendly staffs."

Le Vin de L’assassin gives a French twist to Sicilian ingredients. The owner, Saro, spent years in Paris and brings a sophisticated style to this Ortigia restaurant. The ceilings are tall, the walls are bright and the flavors are unforgettable.
48 Hours In Ortigia, Sicily: What To See, Do And Eat
Le Vin de L’Assassin, a French-inspired bistro, serves comfort food in an intimate setting. Here, you’ll find dishes like Lasagna with tuna ragù, Burrata with tomato gazpacho and Duck with a berry compote on the handwritten menu. Set within Piazza Duomo, the elegant Ristorante Regina Lucia is a more refined option in a uniquely romantic setting: taste Swordfish rolls filled with cherry tomatoes, dggplant and salted ricotta or Potato gnocchi with lobster sauce while admiring Ortigia’s duomo illuminated in the evening.
The Best Restaurants in Ortigia
I stumbled upon this restaurant after noticing their very Instagram-friendly courtyard en route to the beach one morning. The food is Sicilian with a French flair, and although it’s a bit pricier than some of the island’s other restaurants, it’s definitely worth the slight splurge. I highly recommend the grilled octopus, and I’m told they do very good steaks as well.

For a nice alternative to your strictly Italian meal, try Le Vin de L’Assasin – it’s Italian with a French twist, a bit more trendy bistro than taverna. The two owners and chef have travelled extensively and studied at culinary schools abroad in France and Thailand, and therefore enjoy adding a bit of a fusion mix to the Italian-French menu.
