Upon closer inspection, you will find that Bistro de Venise is one of the true jewels of Venice fine dining. Bistrot de Venise is arguably San Marco‘s most famous eatery. It’s close to both Piazza San Marco and Campo Manin and is easy to find due to its red-toned lighting and interiors. Inside, there’s a calm, understated vibe, and the main dining area is filled with candlelit corners and swanky leather seating.

Though it looks a bit like a wood-paneled French bistro, the menu here is primarily old-school Venetian, specializing in rare wines and historical recipes from the 14th to 18th centuries. It’s gimmicky, but it works; think fried soft crabs with artichoke salad; scallops with fennel…

Bistrot de Venise was the most fancy restaurant I tried while in Venice. Just blocks from St. Mark’s, it offered both inside and outside seating which was a treat. The menu itself showed few options I could easily order that were allergy-friendly.

Although it is probably the most touristy place on this list, the location is so romantic that it cannot be left. The place has a delightfully eclectic and creative design with a vintage French feel. The menu has many classics, including seafood.

We tried to go to Venise Bistrot on our first night in Venice and it had a very long wait, we decided to book for the next night when it was all quieter!. We booked through their website and it was very easy.
