Reviews Summary

Osteria Al Duomo is praised for its charming garden terrace and authentic Venetian cuisine, with many diners highlighting the delicious pizzas and hearty portions. While the food is generally well-received, some reviewers noted inconsistencies in service and occasional issues with food temperature or presentation. Despite minor drawbacks, it's considered a reliable and welcoming spot on Murano island.

"Great patio with beautiful trees and plenty of shade. Services was excellent and very fast. There was six of us and every dish we had was excellent! They have fantastic pizzas along with more traditional Venetian dishes. Loved the experience and highly recommend dining here."

"Booked online but they didn't seem to have the booking, they still manned to find us a table in their large dining room which is out the back.
The waiting staff were very good and pretty quick considering the establishment was newly full of diners.

All our meals were lovely and freshly cooked and good size portions. We had pizzas and a grilled chicken, all very nice.

Only one downside and that was they didn't have any ice cream even though it was advertised on the menu."

Jonathan L (russywhite)

"It was okay here, traditional food, lots of choice and the garden was beautiful. The mixed fish starter was okay but maybe a bit small, there was a huge portion of the delicious liver but my fried mixed fish was mainly squid and too small for the money.

We thought a bit expensive and the service was not as good as I would expect. We asked for a dessert several times and were acknowledged and then ignored.

Maybe it was a bad night? I think if you go for the pizza you might feel it was better value and we would do this if we went back"

The 6 Best Family Restaurants in Venice

Osteria Al Duomo is my top pick for Venice family restaurants in Murano, with its extensive menu and laid-back setting. The picturesque courtyard area is super family-friendly, offering plenty of shade and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like an escape from the crowded streets. I almost went for a pizza, as most of the younger diners at our table did, but instead chose the pistachio pesto with spaghetti and prawns.

**If you visit Murano island during your stay in Venice, don’t miss Osteria Al Duomo!. The restaurant was open in 1903 by a priest as a co-op grocery shop, and is now collectively owned by 50 Muranese families. The waiter brought a separate gluten free menu, which had a large selection of pizzas. Don’t be put off by the 4 euros extra added to regular pizzas’ price.
