Reviews Summary
Trattoria da Romano is celebrated for its exceptional seafood, particularly the signature risotto, served in a historic, art-filled ambiance. While prices are on the higher side, the quality of food and the welcoming service make it a worthwhile experience, often exceeding expectations for diners. Some find indoor seating less appealing, but the overall consensus points to a memorable meal rooted in Venetian tradition.
"We took a water bus over to the island of Burano to eat at a local restaurant that has been in the family for 4 generations, since 1920. We heard about it from Anothony Bourdain, where he went nuts over their seafood risotto, which has been made the exact same way since they opened, passing the recipe down the family line. When they first opened they just served fishermen and lace makers, but now the island is popular with tourists.
On the walls of the restaurant were many famous people who had eaten there, including Robert De Niro, Keith Richards, Charlie Chaplin, Sylvester Stallone, Jane Fonda, and a very long list of other famous people.
The risotto was pretty good but my favorite part was the lemon cake with meringue, it was without a doubt one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. It might inspire me to make more meringues. The sea bass was good but expensive.
If you’re staying in Venice a few days then you should get the multi day boat pass, it’s a lot easier and more economical."

"A great place in the heart of Burano. The trattoria is big but busy, we had to wait on arrival to get a table but it was worth it. Anyone can find a place here, there is a terrace, a stylish and a family-friendly section. The seafood and the artichoke was amazing. Prices are high, but so is the quality. Professional service, friendly staff. Recommended. 👌🏻"

"Wonderful food and experience. The risotto was one of the best we’ve had! A must try. We also had the mixed fish grilled and fried. You can taste the freshness of the food. Delicious all around."
