What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Locanda 4 Cuochi is lauded for its innovative Italian cuisine that offers a modern twist on classics, with many praising the creative flavors and beautiful presentation. The tasting menu is a particular highlight for its value and variety, and the staff are noted for being friendly and accommodating, especially towards dietary needs. While the food and service are generally excellent, some reviewers mention that dishes don't always 'blow them away' and that service can sometimes feel rushed during busy periods.
"Stumbled upon this gem in Verona by surprise and had an amazing experience! The food isn’t traditional Italian, but it's a modern twist with a fantastic explosion of flavors. Every dish was a delight, and the atmosphere was just perfect. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in town—you won’t be disappointed!"

"This restaurant was outstanding in every way! I’m traveling alone and had a hard time finding a place for dinner that wasn’t booked or would serve one person. The staff here were super welcoming to me and let me sit at the bar, everyone that brought me food or took my plate was so friendly. I got the five course tasting menu for €59 it’s an incredible deal. I got to try so many things and everything was fantastic. I also have a gluten sensitivity and they were super accommodating, telling me what I could eat on the menu and even brought me gluten-free bread! I’m so glad I stopped here."

"I learned about this restaurant via Michelin guide. It is a middle sized restaurant with modern design atmosphere. The service is efficient and friendly. We took the 59 euro tasting menu and I really liked the choices. For starters we had trout and beef tartar. Trout is very finely cooked and beef tartar is quite innovative. For first course we have chosen spaghetti, the flavor is good, too, with a fine touch of pistachios. For main dish I followed the suggestion of the staff and took the pork shank. The cook timing is finely controlled with a nice sweet and sour flavor. It reminds me of Chinese way cooking pork but still this one is crispy on the skin. For dessert we took one Mille feuille and one panna cotta, both are great. I think panna cotta is a little bit lighter in flavor as Mille feuilles have very heavy filling. I do enjoyed my lunch at this restaurant."

One of the newer arrivals in town, Locanda 4 Cuochi (Via Alberto Mario, 12; locanda4cuochi.it) opened just over a year ago and has become a trendsetter for its innovative cuisine and contemporary look. A line of seats at the bar peek into the open kitchen where the four chefs (cuochi) work, but even in the stylish dining room there is plenty of opportunity to engage with them: they help the servers and suggest wine pairings. The menu includes a delicious fiolaro broccoli salad with a beaten egg and briny anchovies, and polenta ravioli stuffed with spinach and snail ragù.
