What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Lobster Dave Seafood Restaurant offers a beautiful waterfront dining experience with some standout dishes, particularly its signature lobster preparations and Jamaican specialties. However, diners frequently note issues with slow service and inconsistent food quality, with some meals arriving cold or lacking expected flavor. Despite these criticisms, the stunning views and refreshing drinks often compensate for the occasional culinary misstep.
"The food and service was excellent!! Brianna took her time with me as a newbie to Jamaican cuisine. Seasoned red snapper with brown stew sauce is a must!"

"Not worth the hype in my opinion!! I ordered a steamed fish and it was basic and just “okay”. I didn’t get the Jamaican flavors that I was expecting, the vegetables could have been cooked more too. Charging ppl $5,000 for a fish and it not being outstanding is crazy!! The servers are very slow. There wasn’t a lot of ppl when I went and yet they were slow to take orders and bring out the food, etc. Dave, do better for all the hype and money you charge!!"

"It’s hard for me to rate places in my homeland low, but I had high expectations for this spot and it turned out to be a bit of a disappointment.
First of all, we waited a very long time for our food, and there wasn’t a crowd there. When the food finally arrived, the conch was not fresh at all, and the lobster had no flavor. It was supposed to be garlic butter, but there was hardly any garlic or butter on it.
The service itself was decent, and the atmosphere is beautiful since it’s right by the water and a very popular spot. Many celebrities even visit. However, I think they could do much better with the food, and I truly hope they improve."

In a bid to boost decimated fish stocks, the Jamaican government has enforced closed seasons on lobster and conch during their reproductive cycles – August 1 to December 31 for conch, and April 1 to June 30 for lobster. It is illegal for restaurants to serve lobster or conch caught during these times, and while many will tell you that the stock is frozen and predates the deadline, this is obviously not always true, and you should avoid restaurants that don’t comply with the law.
