Reviews Summary

FUKUOKA CRAFT by El Borracho is celebrated for its extensive craft beer selection, both in-house brewed and imported, offering a vibrant atmosphere that reminds some of California. While the Mexican food, particularly the carnitas tacos, receives high praise for its authentic flavor, a few reviewers found the overall food quality to be mediocre if not focused on beer or tequila. Service is generally friendly and multilingual, making it foreigner-friendly, though some experienced less than ideal interactions.

"Definitely recommend!!

Went there to pregame before Fukuoka local dinner.
My friend and I had flight respectively- 4 kinds for me and 6 for my friend.
Everything we tasted was great and rhe taco was tasty."

Foo T

"Excellent craft beers on tap, as well as much more choices by bottle.

The food is pretty decent. Carnitas tacos are very flavorful and remind me of those authentic Mexican shops in California."

Li Lin

"This restaurant serves Japanese craft beers and Mexican food. It has a good location in a exciting night street but there is only few guests. I experienced weird things here: the waiter was a European guy who was not friendly, I ordered a glass of Hazy IPA (a kind of craft beer they serve), the waiter brought me a glass of beer that looked totally different from a standard IPA, in fact it had color of a white lager (see the attached picture). However, the food & drinks were acceptable that compensated for lack of good vibe. I won't come back here again!"

Fukuoka Craft in Fukuoka, Kyushu

If you like craft beer and/or Mexican food, and you’re in Fukuoka, then get on over to Fukuoka Craft. For the short amount of time in Fukuoka, I definitely enjoyed Fukuoka Craft the most and would happily go there again as it offers up everything I want in a craft beer bar – good beer, good service, good prices, and good food. The whole place is non-smoking, has no table charge, free WiFi, but the prices do not include tax.

Fukuoka Craft is the latest venture of the “El Borracho” group of restaurants, which feature authentic Mexican food. The owner, Yoshifumi Sugiyama, studied cooking in Mexico, and this bar reflects his unique business approach. The bar opened in July 2017 with a menu featuring tacos, nachos, and grilled meats alongside a wide selection of craft beers, Mexican-themed cocktails, and El Borracho’s original tequila.

For lovers of craft beer, a visit to Fukuoka Craft Brewery is a must. The bar serves a variety of styles from different breweries in Japan and in the USA, but I highly recommend trying their home brews. The Keyagu Tepache is a pineapple saison laced with habanero, punctuating each sip with a nice touch of heat, while the Hazy IPA is hoppy but also refreshing.

Fukuoka round up

Perhaps was the rising star of the Fukuoka beer scene till recently. Was a Mexican restaurant with some craft beer but became the taproom of Fukuoka Craft with Mexican food, so slight change in focus. Think they had US imports and their own beers.
