If you’ve researched Fukuoka food, you’ve probably seen mentaiko baguette come up as a must-try. One of the most popular places to get it is at The Full Full Hakata, and we lined up to see what the hype was about. We arrived just before opening, and the line was already long—it took us over an hour to finally get inside. Along the way, we picked up their top 5 bestsellers, a juicy frankfurter, and...

Reviews Summary

Hakata Genki Ippai is celebrated for its authentic and incredibly rich tonkotsu ramen, featuring a creamy broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Diners often praise its value and the cozy, local atmosphere. However, some find the broth overly salty or too rich, and the hidden location can be a challenge to find.

"Ramen with Thick broth. Tastes great with a bit of curry sauce also. Often has a long queue so be prepared to wait for 20-40mins before entering"

BT

"I have eaten an exuberant amount of ramen from all over the world, and I’m not sure why on earth this earned a Michelin star in 2019. It was way too salty and the broth tasted like gravy from KFC. I really wouldn’t recommend trying it, as Fukuoka has so many great options."

M Z

"You won't find this place along any commercial street. In fact, I think this was in a low key residential area that we had to walk to from the main road. If we didn't know the significance of the blue bucket hanging outside, we would not have gone in.

This "off the beaten path" restaurant was well worth the visit. Locals filled the place while we were there.

Since it was our first time, my fiance and I tried their original, creamy tonkotsu ramen. I was curious about their well known curry ramen as well, but that can be an experience for next time 😁

This was unlike any ramen I've ever tasted - and at a value for money price too! Would definitely recommend 🙂"

Hakata Ramen

It is famous not only for its taste but also for its unusual ramen shop without a sign. The blue bucket that hangs in front of the entrance is a landmark for business. The owner makes the thick soup that looks like a pottage by cooking every part of the pork bones.
