What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners rave about the authentic Kagoshima ramen, particularly the rich broth infused with soy milk and the melt-in-your-mouth kurobuta pork. The cozy, hidden location adds to its charm. While the ramen is consistently praised, some find the prices slightly higher than average and occasionally mention service lapses.
"I’m a big fan of the ramen here! I know it’s right by the tram stop at tenmonkan, so there’s a bit of a tourist trap vibe, but it’s honestly really good in my opinion. Broth is not clear but not too thick, taste of meat is excellent, noodles are good, boiled egg tastes great. The regular aburi ramen, the first one on the vending machine, is my favorite, although I tried tontoro and black pork also. Gyoza was fine, not remarkable really. But the standard ramen is excellent!"

"This ramen place was very delicious, full of flavor, My only concern is the price. They are a little more expensive than any normal ramen shop, and that is why the place was full of tourists rather than japanese people for lunch. Other than that, I would say it was a good lunch, Gyoza was not the best, but it was worth a try!"

"Good restaurant to try the famous Kagoshima ramen. Good quality and affordable price.
Pay at the door from a vending machine and wait for it to be served. The char siu is really good quality. Thick yet tender and the fat melts in the mouth, however with the heaviness of the soup it adds too much fat to the ramen so it can feel too rich rather than nicely balanced. The gyoza was ok but the filling was a bit too soft.
A good meal but would have been better at the end of a night after about 5 beers! 😂"
