The Godburger

"Visited on a Sunday exactly at opening time and there was already a queue. A good mix of both local and international clientele which is testimony to its burgeoning reputation.
Service was cordial, polished and efficient. They were quick to politely ask if I minded at least a 30 minute wait for my food as they were almost at capacity with only counter seating available. Thankfully, their small selection of international/ local beers made the wait painless.
Considering the fact that there was only one cook, my bacon cheeseburger appeared at 30 mins on the dot. Impressive considering there was only one cook and a full house of maybe 16 guests. More impressively, the burger did not look like the hastily slapped together burger you might find in fast food joint but one that had an appearance of being constructed thoughtfully.
Couldn't quite fit the burger into my mouth so I had to unfortunately 'deconstruct' the burger first by eating the thick slice of tomato alone and was I glad I did! Japanese tomatoes put all other tomatoes to shame when it comes to sweetness ! Just can't imagine what it would be like if my mouth was big enough to eat all that goodness together with the rest of the burger!
The meat patty was uniformly thick throughout and perfectly cooked. Both buns were not over toasted as well and the grilled onion added the requisite sweetness. No ketchup or mustard required on this baby!"

"Wow! Amazing burger! Fresh ingredients, burger was juicy and the fries were outstanding. Service was great too! Small place so get there early, the owner is not concerned about customers leaving so I felt no pressure to give up our table once we were done eating. They are very relaxed which is really nice. Oh yeah, music was on point too. Very cool spot. Highly recommended!"

"We’ve been in Japan for over a week and wanted to give Godburger a try craving a small taste of home after a recommendation from a friend. We waited outside for about 15 minutes for space to open up, not bad at all! The staff was very kind and friendly. The prices were more than we’ve been paying for meals here but you’re paying for good ingredients and knowledgeable cooking. My only real complaint is the burger was very tall so I couldn’t really get every flavor in one bite and my first few bites were just tomato, lettuce, and bread which were admittedly nice and ripe and crunchy. It ended up mostly falling apart halfway through, but the burger party itself was perfectly cooked and mildly seasoned to really celebrate the meat. The fries aren’t traditional hamburger fries but were so so so delicious. Fluffy and soft on the inside with a delicate crunch to the skin and perfectly salted."
