Soba no Sato Nagawa is praised for its authentic, handmade soba noodles, particularly the unique Touji Soba experience. Diners appreciate the warm hospitality and the cozy atmosphere. However, some reviews mention a lack of foreign-friendliness and inconsistent preparation of certain dishes.

"(Translated by Google) I had the croquette set meal, which is the shop's recommendation ^_^
It came with three cute egg-sized croquettes and soba noodles [choice of hot or cold]
!
The croquettes were lightly flavored. Maybe they didn't have any flavor?
I ate it with sauce.
The rice portion was small, so if you want to eat a lot, I recommend ordering a large portion ^_^
The soba noodles were delicious★

The stewed offal was lightly flavored!

"(Translated by Google) A heartwarming bowl of bliss in a hidden area of Shinshu! Enjoy Touji Soba at "Soba no Rinagawa"

About an hour's drive from Matsumoto city, we head to "Soba no Rinagawa" in the Nakagawa district, surrounded by rich nature. This time, we visited in search of the local specialty, "Touji Soba".

Of course, we ordered "Touji Soba" (1,500 yen). We also ordered a rice porridge set (350 yen) as an additional order. The Touji Soba that arrived is a pot containing mountain pheasant meat, mushrooms, and wild vegetables, and the boiled soba is placed in a small bamboo basket called a "Toujikago" and quickly thrown into the hot soup, which is then warmed up once, placed in a soba bowl, and the soup is poured over the top with a ladle. The staff will carefully teach you how to eat it, so even first-timers can feel at ease.
The soup has a gentle flavor. The soup, which is packed with the blessings of Shinshu, slowly seeps into your body. The soba noodles are handmade and made from buckwheat flour native to Nagano.
As you eat, the broth, which combines the flavors of the soba and ingredients, changes into a unique taste. The rice porridge set at the end is a must-have item to enjoy the flavor to the fullest. If you soak the rice in the broth and add an egg, it's a truly blissful bowl. I felt that this was the true joy of enjoying the bounty of Nagano in its entirety.

[Restaurant atmosphere]
The interior is spacious and has a calm atmosphere with a warm wooden motif. It is a space where you can enjoy a leisurely meal with your family, friends, or even by yourself.

[Service]
On this day, two local ladies were working together. They were very polite and kind. I was confused by my first toji soba, but they explained how to eat it with a smile, and I felt their warm hospitality from start to finish. The service time was smooth, and I was able to enjoy my meal without stress.

[Price range, cost performance]
Touji soba is 1,500 yen per person and the porridge set is 350 yen, for a total of 1,850 yen. Considering that you can enjoy authentic handmade soba and the rich bounty of Nagano for this price, I think it is very cost-effective. Considering that it is a special experience that is hard to find in the city center, it even feels like a good deal.

[Ease of making reservations, crowding situation]
I visited during lunch time on a weekday, and it was crowded with many customers. It is expected to be particularly crowded during the tourist season and weekends, so it is wise to visit with plenty of time. When I visited, I was able to enter the restaurant without a reservation, but depending on the timing, you may have to wait.

[Access, location]
It is about an hour by car from Matsumoto city, so it is not particularly easy to access. However, the drive course allows you to enjoy the majestic nature of Shinshu, and one of the attractions is that you can experience the feeling of being in a hidden place. There is a parking lot in front of the restaurant, so it is convenient to visit by car.

[Overall Review]
"Soba no Sato Nakagawa" is not just a place to eat soba, but also a place where you can experience the nature and culture of Nakagawa, as well as its warm people. The heartwarming "Touji Soba" is a masterpiece worth visiting. We confidently recommend it to those who want to forget the hustle and bustle of the city and savor the bounty of Shinshu to their heart's content. Why not spend a blissful moment with the beautiful scenery of the four seasons?
