We stumbled upon @the barn 🍔 this past weekend and it exceeded our expectations This Farm to Table restaurant has a small but delicious menu to choose from 👩‍🌾 I got the “What The Cluck” sandwhich and you have the option for grilled or fried. I got the Fried and inside it comes with goat cheese, arugula, tomatos and their barn made Buttermilk dressing. It was perfection! The moist and creamy goat...

Reviews Summary

The Barn by Odin offers a visually stunning dining experience in a unique barn-style setting, with many praising the exceptional wagyu steak and attentive service. However, some diners find the experience overpriced for the portion sizes and note issues with availability of certain dishes, leading to disappointment.

"The best fine dining I had ever tasted in Japan!
A lot of local ingredients are used, and the simple ingredients are well integrated. I am very surprised. It must be paired with wine parring. It is really wonderful. It goes well with the meal."

angel chen

"We went for dinner on 1 Jan 2025. They could accommodate our request for an earlier seating. It was a 4 course set menu (JPY16,000 with additional JPY7,000 for wine pairing). Oysters were very fresh although I didn’t much like the pickled radish as it detracted from the taste profile. The grilled unagi complemented the smooth Foie gras, served with homemade petite brioche. The main was the wagyu tenderloin cooked medium rare accompanied with burdock (whole and purée) and jus (cooked for 3 days). It was tender, rich and flavorful. Paired well with both Pinot and CabSav. However it was the dessert (thinly sliced carrot cake served over mousse, very punchy ginger gel and chilli mousse) that took us by surprise. The flavors paired beautifully with dry sparkling wine. Service was great (thank you Hayley) and inside the barn was cosy and welcoming like a warm hug)."

Penny Saw

"The whole experience was amazing, we had the Wagyu fried potatoes, hokke fish appetizer and the mushroom main course dish and the 24 hour braised beef was out of this work!

Emily who served us was superb and genuine, looking after us and even gave us some surprises homemade rum shots as she knew we were going out to town for a few more drinks. :)"

Niseko is world-famous for its noodles, especially its soba. One of the most highly-regarded soba houses in all of Japan is a tiny 12-seat restaurant called Rakuichi Soba (once featured by Anthony Bourdain on No Reservations), where the buckwheat noodles are hand-made the traditional way by Soba Master Tatsuru Rai. Reservations are extremely hard to come by, but you may be able to get a walk-in seat at lunch.

Eating in Niseko with Kids

This brings us to The Barn, which is the on-site restaurant where we had our breakfasts and our last dinner in Niseko. We were fortuitous to wake to 5 mornings of glorious blue skies and amazing sunrises over Mount Yotei. As if that wasn’t enough of a good start, stepping into the sun-drenched dining room and being greeted by a central wooden table laden with an amazing array of continental delights, was enough to cheer the hearts of any morning grouch.
