While the experience can involve queues and higher prices, most diners find the melt-in-your-mouth tuna and interactive preparation worth the visit. "We had such a great time at Maguroya Kurogin in Kuromon! We tried the negima nabe, and it was absolutely delicious — the broth was rich and flavorful, perfectly warming for the cooler weather. The fresh ingredients really made a difference, especially the tender cuts of tuna that melted in your mouth. One of the highlights was getting to taste kama-toro, which was buttery, fatty, and just incredible. It felt like a real treat! The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home, and the cozy, casual vibe of the place was perfect after a day of exploring the market. If you’re around Kuromon and want something comforting and tasty, definitely check this spot out!"

"Excellent fresh tuna to be purchased and made into sushi, sashimi or roll at the spot. You choose the tuna packaged and they will do it there and you can sit down and enjoy. The line is rather long so be prepared to line up for 30 mins or more (depending on the time you go). The price is on the high side but it's worth a try as a tourist as it's a unique experience."

"I don’t like sashimi much but my husband loves it so this place was a must during our trip to Japan. It was very busy but the service is great and quick, high quality and really fresh tuna. Even not liking much raw fish, I had to try it and I was surprised how fresh and good was the tuna. My husband loved it as well!"

This is the first shop in the Kansai region to sell Pacific tuna, and as we sat at the bar, we watched it being sliced and served in bright-pink blocks to what seemed like a never-ending queue of eager diners.

After this stop, we saw Maguroya Kurogin (a huge and popular stall at a corner junction) that specialize in Pacific bluefin tuna.
