What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
AFURI Harajuku is widely praised for its innovative yuzu-infused ramen, offering a lighter yet incredibly satisfying alternative to traditional broths. Diners love the modern ambiance and the fresh, well-prepared ingredients. While generally a positive experience, some find the broth slightly lacking in flavor or prefer thicker noodles. Long queues are common, but the wait is often considered worthwhile for the unique taste.
"This place usually has a very long queue, but we got lucky today—waited less than 10 minutes and managed to grab two counter seats.
The restaurant has only counter seating, giving it that classic, traditional Japanese ramen shop vibe.
Their Yuzu Ramen is super popular, and after trying it, I can totally see why—it’s absolutely fantastic!
The original broth is flavorful but not overly salty, with a touch of sourness and a refreshing yuzu aroma that makes the ramen light, unique, and incredibly tasty.
I went for the spicy broth, and I was initially worried the spiciness might overpower the yuzu flavor—but it didn’t at all. The spicy oil and yuzu blend beautifully, creating a sour-and-spicy combination that’s neither too oily nor too spicy, thanks to the refreshing citrus notes. The chashu and chicken breast were also delicious, well-cooked, and soaked up the broth perfectly.
We also tried the yuzu highball and yuzu beer. The highball was just okay—the whisky overpowered the yuzu flavor a bit. But the yuzu beer was excellent—the blend of wheat and citrus aroma in one glass was superb.
This is a well-deserved and must-visit ramen spot, with several outlets across Tokyo. Definitely one of the best yuzu ramen experiences I’ve had!"

"From the second you step in, the vibe hits just right—clean, modern, and full of that signature Tokyo energy. The music? On point. Chill but funky, the kind of playlist that makes you want to linger even after your bowl is empty.
Now let’s talk food—wow. The yuzu shio ramen is next-level: light yet flavorful, citrusy in all the right ways, and perfectly balanced. Every bite is a little celebration of taste. Noodles are just the right chew, broth is soul-warming, and the toppings? Fresh, beautiful, and ridiculously tasty. You can feel the care they put into every bowl.
Whether you’re deep into ramen culture or just ramen-curious, this place will blow your mind. The atmosphere, the beats, the food—everything flows together in a way that makes you want to come back immediately.
Strong recommendation. This isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience."

"This place was really great. The people were super friendly and it was easy to order off the English menu. The food tasted amazing and they also gave us child size bowls, and child’s desserts for the kids and we’re really friendly with our kids even though there wasn’t kids like seating, the kids were able to sit on the stools and they ate their meals and we’re very happy."
