"This is from the recommendation list from google top list of Asakusa.

We came here after shopping at the kitchen street. Basically it’s only straight street back and passed the Tsukuba express station and felt like back into edo-time zone with cobblestone pavement.

It’s also very close to sensoji temple. When we were inside there was only one table so we could sit comfortably It was close to 6 pm. We ordered one prawn kisu fish and fried seafood pancake and another two prawns with fried seafood pancake.

I loved sesame oil fried tempura. Had similar dish from Nara trip but never met the same flavor again. Although a lot of stores claim it used goma or sesame oil but maybe personal reasons I couldn’t taste it.

Anyway I have a high expectation of this store. And the flavor didn’t fail me. I loved it has strong soy sauce or store secret sauce? I could taste there were some small shrimps inside the pancakes. They were not crispy type but on the soggy side which I really didn’t mind.

The matcha that came with the tempura bowl was fantastic. Full of matcha flavor. I also liked the building which had the edo period charm."

If you don’t like tempura that mix with the sauce, you should go with set menu, yes it mode expensive but you can get more tempura in original taste, the set came with soup and special pickles with shrimp on it. But if you with your friends or family you can try every kind of tempura with sauce (tendon) or without sauce.

And we came on Monday at 6 pm there no queuing."

Unfortunately, as you know, it is near a silly tourist area, but surprisingly very few tourists go here. So you won’t have any problems.

This is traditional and wonderful tempura. It is quite heavy, I believe it’s sesame oil style. If you want super-light, super-dry, postmodern tempura, you have to go to a glass cube in Shibuya!!!! This is traditional old-style tempura. You will love it.

The setting is completely traditional, with the older sisters serving you. You don’t have to worry as there is an English menu and they’re very kind. Just don’t forget the basics in Japan, no perfume, no talking, no phone calls. Obviously it is cash only like every family run place. There is no problem at all bringing small children as long as they are quiet. Enjoy! 🇯🇵"
