What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Diners praise Sushi Tokyo Ten for its exceptional value omakase, offering a generous number of high-quality courses for the price. The intimate atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff contribute to a memorable dining experience. However, some feel the quality, while good for the price, doesn't reach the heights of more expensive omakase restaurants, and certain dishes might lack complexity or freshness.
"Absolutely delicious Omakasa. If you’re in the area and you can get a spot here, I would highly recommend it. I walked by and a friend mentioned to me that it was really good, I’m staying nearby. And so I just knocked on the window as they were getting ready and they were able to squeeze me in. I paid in advance for same day reservation. But they were incredibly accommodating and kind. The food was absolutely incredible, such fresh fish, and each bite was more delicious than the last."

"About 10,000yen per pax for a 15-16 course Omakase meal in the heart of Shibuya - absolutely amazing and memorable experience. Sushi chef and waiter were all super welcoming and speak great English too, introducing each dish to us in detail and being attentive to our table needs.
Really love the traditional interior with warm ambient lighting throughout. There were also a mixture of seats between counter and table seating for larger groups so this was quite unique.
The uni was probably my favorite, followed by the fatty tuna and lobster. All incredibly fresh. Scallops and flounder were also one of the best i have tried in Tokyo! It was soft, juicy, and flavourful all at once. There was also free flow Japanese green tea during the meal. Best experience and a must-visit! Hands down one of the most value for money Omakase I have ever eaten. Will be back! Reservation in advance is highly recommended!"

"A 'value' Omakase where you get a large amount of courses for ~10k yen, including lobster, uni (sea urchin), otoro, and other fish.
Which sounds great on paper, except that you really are just paying for the gimmick of omakase style service - the taste and quality are significantly subpar to legitimate omakase restaurants in Japan.
The seafood was in general, not very high quality or fresh tasting. The taste of almost every single dish was bland and boring. For example - whilst the lobster is aesthetic and good for Instagram, the taste is just boiled lobster - there's absolutely nothing going for it. There also isn't enough wasabi in any of the nigiri. The quality of the sushi rice is mediocre.
The ordering of the course is completely nonsensical and it ends very abruptly, very much unlike proper omakase in which there's generally a coherent sequence of dishes based on taste profile. I just felt like I was eating slightly better than sushi train quality sushi, at a fancy setting with good service and plating.
If you just want to say you tried omakase, then this place is fine, but don't mistake it for actual quality Japanese omakase - to be fair, this is to be expected from the price point. The restaurant does a good job with everything else, like service and ambience."
