Reviews Summary
Diners rave about Tsukishima Monja Moheji's authentic Monjayaki, with many highlighting the interactive cooking experience and the delicious Mentaiko and Squid Ink varieties. The exceptional service, including attentive staff and fabric spray, significantly elevates the dining experience. While the unique texture of Monjayaki might be an acquired taste for some, most agree it's a must-try for its savory flavors and engaging preparation.
"Came here to try their monjayaki~ The food was great, particularly their grilled squid with liver and butter - really fragrant that I was salivating while waiting for it to be done. Their service was even better as they not only served me ice water when I did not order any drinks, they helped us to cook, and even offered to spray fabric spray on our jackets to reduce the bbq smell when we were leaving. Honestly, their food probably is around a 4.5 star, but their service would bump it up to a 5 for me. No regrets travelling here for this👌🏻"

"We (2 pax) ordered 2 monjayaki: mentaiko & mochi monja with cheese (highly recommended), and pork, leek and egg monja, with a hot oolong tea and a ginger ale. The monjayaki was superb!"

"This is one of the more unique food that I have ever ate the looks might not be appetising but it's actually very tasty!!
This restaurant is located in the famous Monjayaki Street in Tsukishima and it's usually packed with customers and you might need to queue for some time if you are dining at peak hours.
The must order dish here is definitely Monjayaki and there are actually many variants of it and the most popular one is the Mentaiko Monjayaki but I find the Squid ink version much more delicous as its more savoury and taste like Squid Ink Rissoto.
The Monjayaki are made in front of you at your table by the staff once you complete your order hence you do not need to worry if you do not know how to cook. This store has got staffs that speaks English and Mandarin hence you don't need to worry about communication problems.
Once the dish is cooked you will be eating with a small metal spatula from the metal pan on your table and its definitely the most delicous goob that I have ever ate. (it's looks might be deceiving). The Monjayaki actually taste better once it starts to cook a bit longer on the pan as it will start to get charred and that's where the extra deliciousness comes from.
Do take note that there is actually a minimum order in the restaurant hence you will need to order at least 2 main dish if you wish to dine here.
Definitely give this dish a try if you are in Tokyo as its a very tasty and unique dish only available in Japan."
