Reviews Summary
Uosan Sakaba is a beloved local izakaya celebrated for its incredibly fresh seafood and remarkably low prices, creating an authentic Japanese dining experience. While the food is consistently praised for its quality and value, some diners note that the service can be indifferent or lacking friendliness, and ordering can be challenging for non-Japanese speakers. Despite these minor drawbacks, the unparalleled taste and cost-effectiveness make it a highly recommended spot for adventurous eaters.
"The restaurant is underrated on Google, yet does not need your patronage.
From my 1000’s of restaurant meals for taste and value in the top 5.
Fodor (the definitive food guide by experts) “ Wherever you sit, the focus is mostly on seafood, with the fresh cuts of sashimi (of whatever fish is sourced that day), especially good when paired with one of the sakes on the menu” …
The locals kept ordering dish after dish of sushi or cooked fish, and Sake or Beer, enjoying the ambience and incredibly organized service.
Arriving at 16:30, only a few spare seats, the locals kept on coming in.
Don’t expect grandeur, appreciate Japanese hospitality and food at its best!!
The price will astound you."

"Famous Seafood Spot in Monzennakacho – Great Food but Lacking Service
This seafood restaurant in Monzennakacho is incredibly popular, and for good reason. People come from all over the city just to eat here, and there’s always a line in front of the place. Without waiting, getting a seat is nearly impossible, but thankfully, the queue moves quickly. We visited on a Friday night, arriving around 8:00 PM, and after just 15 minutes, we were able to enter.
Inside, the atmosphere is decent, but unfortunately, the service is terrible. Our waiter was not friendly at all —so much so that it seemed intentional, as if it was part of the restaurant’s concept rather than personal.
The food, however, was very good. Every dish we ordered was perfectly prepared and delicious—except for the tuna sashimi, which was still frozen when it arrived at our table. We had to wait around 30 minutes for it to thaw before we could even eat it, which was quite disappointing. If not for that, the food would have easily deserved five stars.
Overall, while the poor service brings down the experience, the food and unbeatable prices make it worth a visit. We paid just 5,000 yen for two people and left completely full. If you don’t mind indifferent service, this is a great spot for high-quality seafood at a fantastic price."

"Absolutely great food for incredible value. We were 4 people and spent ¥9,500 (£50) for a very good meal. The fish selection is absolutely top notch.
The only thing to point out is that we did go here with a Japanese friend and he ordered everything for us—it would have been a bit tougher otherwise."

35 Best Restaurants in Tokyo You Can Visit Without
This popular izakaya is known as the "Holy Land for Tokyo's old men."There's always a long line outside of the restaurant before it opens at 4:00pm every day.The customers are all looking for the same thing: fresh seafood purchased every morning from Tsukiji Market.A number of quality dishes are served here at a surprisingly low price, including "Maguro no Nakaochi (310 yen)," "Nodoguro no Shioyaki (380 yen)," and "Nama-Uni (650 yen)."We recommend taking a seat at the lively counter on the 1st floor. If you're visiting as a group of 3 or more, you'll be given a seat at a table on the 2nd or 3rd floor, so it's best to visit in a small group of 1 or 2. ◆Uosan SakabaAddress: 1-5-4 Tomioka, Koto-ku, TokyoPhone: 03-3641-8071Hours: 16:00-22:00Budget: 2,000-2,999 yenClosed: Sundays, holidays Credit cards not accepted
