"I really wanted to try an authentic yakitori spot in Tokyo, I know it’s very tourist forward, but we stumbled upon this place because of its loud and rambunctious atmosphere.
The service is friendly and fun as they try to cram as many people as possible. They even have these large bags for you to put your stuff in so they don’t get dirty or inundated with the smell of charcoal.
The locals that come here seem to be coming off work for some drinks and snacks with colleagues, and if they speak English, are very nice and want to talk to you. Which is nice if you want the authentic experience.
The skewers are a bit hit and miss. Some are delicious with the sauce, and some aren’t. The quail eggs definitely need the sauce version. Pork belly is better without, but that’s my personal preference. I did have a chicken skewer that was a tad underdone though, but otherwise no complaints.
Overall, a fun spot and a good way to get the local vibes."

"Sooooooo good. As a yakitori advocate, all i can say is that they were oishii oishii oishii. You have to order in sets of 2 (sure!) and at least a drink (water is a drink, all good) English menu, easy to order through app, only cash. Super laid back. (It’s like a street stall / bar. )"

Ultimate Tokyo Food Guide In Japan - Where And What To Eat
If eating meat on sticks and drowning them in beer sounds like your thing then you have to add this spot to your list of restaurants. There’s no livelier and more local place than this hole in the wall, under the train tracks, yakitori restaurant. When we came out of Shimbashi station to look for this place, we weren’t sure if we were heading the right direction but we continued to follow the raised train tracks and all the restaurants below them till we started hearing more noise.
Japan – Tokyo – Sweet and Sour Fork
Yakitori Ton Ton is our first food stop after we arrived in Tokyo, and although it’s probably not THE best yakitori, the atmosphere is impeccable, and a great way to immerse ourselves in the city. Located in a smoky underpass, this place is cramped, bustling, and has good times written all over it. There’s no cover charge, but you are required to order one of the (very affordable) drinks – no hardships there when the meal largely consists of salty meaty bits.
