📍Ankole Grill, Kitisuru I know im literally the last person to try Ankole, but it was worth the wait! Loved it, great service , HUGE portions! Do you see the size of those ribs?? 😍Love me restaurants that offer 2 sides with my main! They do a rare steak pretty well. Its mostly open space and would make for a nice sunny lunch spot. they have a wide menu so ill definetly be back to try more options....

I’ve had Ankole on my list of restaurants to visit for a while now. From my google search it has a ton of great reviews and it did not disappoint. The food is delicious and the potions are big. The ambience is relaxing. Be sure to make a reservation as it’s quite busy especially on the weekends. #fyipシツ #wheretoeatinnairobi #nairobihiddengems #thingstodoinnairobi #ankolegrillkitusuru

Reviews Summary

Ankole Grill Kitisuru is celebrated for its unique Pan African steakhouse experience, stunning garden ambiance, and generous food portions. Diners frequently praise the serene setting, the vibrant atmosphere, and the flavorful dishes, especially the mixed grill and steaks. However, some reviews note inconsistencies in food quality, with occasional mentions of dry meat or dishes being overshadowed by spice.

"Ankole is an upscale restaurant - although it’s more casual in nature. It’s very well designed, both the inside and outside sitting areas. It is surrounded by a small forest which adds to the serenity of the atmosphere. Incase you’re looking for good plantain(kelewele), this is the spot for you. They also do fantastic soup- bone broth, if that’s the kind of mood you’re in. Especially with the cold of mid year, I’d definitely recommend. It says it’s spicy and I guess that depends on individual taste buds. But for me, it wasn’t very spicy. I’ve tried a variety of things but for small bites - the wings and kelewele are top contenders. And for larger meals I would highly recommend the mbuzi. I tried the beef tacos as well this time and the meat was good - however I found that the level of spice overwhelms the palate and you can’t really taste much else. But their Caesar salad - while unconventional definitely deserves all the high praise. After your meal - they also have sitting areas under a larger tree and a conversation pit which is nice to have conversation or read a book. I can guarantee you’ll be pretty full. This isn’t my first time there but I’ll definitely be going back"

"This is a beautifully scenic, modern spot nestled in the hills of Nairobi — perfect for anything from a quiet dinner for two to a group gathering of twenty. The setting is impressive and the design well thought-out, creating a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere. Since the restaurant is known for its meat, we went for the “meat platter,” but it was disappointing. The chicken was dry, the ribs were mostly fat with little meat, and everything was mashed together on one plate with some oddly flavored sauces that didn’t quite work. I had expected more in terms of both quality and presentation."

"A great place to eat. The views are therapeutic. Winnie our attendant for the evening was very welcoming and swift to action. The food portioning is plenty, especially for kids. Thank you Ankole for the simple yet exquisite evening."
