What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
BOUANG Asian Eatery is celebrated for its creative fusion of Lao and Western dishes, served in a vibrant and quirky atmosphere. Diners rave about unique dishes like the gnocchi green curry and lime chicken burger, as well as the refreshing mango spring rolls and friendly service. While prices are considered slightly high for Laos, the quality and experience are generally deemed worth it, though some find certain dishes can be too salty or bland.
"We had a great time at this restaurant! The menu was extensive, but the server helped us pick out fresh mango spring rolls, sausages, and a crispy rice dish to share. The portions were pretty good and the food was delicious. The crispy rice was a bit spicy, though, so be careful. The place got really busy really fast, so it’s best to come early! I also love the decor!"

"Our last dine in Luang Prabang. Turned out to be so good. The dishes are absolutely tasty and well-cooked. Not so much options of foods but good variety and diversity of cuisines offering both local and western dishes. The portions are just right and not too much. We love a good seating for good vibes, view and location. The staff were accommodating and flexible on how you want your foods and drinks done. Prices are a little high for Laos but it’s tourist price and tourist food value. So yeah, good place to grab some good foods."

"Good choice of restaurants for sampling Lao dishes or some western comfort food. Nice modern decor and the staff were more attentive and helpful than most of those nearby. Would happily have come back and sampled more dishes. Found the river weed a bit over busy with the nuts, dips and sausages were great. One of the better sausages I've had in Laos. Quiet for lunch but very busy at night."

Restaurants in Luang Prabang
The decor of this colorful, French-owned restaurant is a throwback to the Asia of 50 years ago, but the constantly changing menu of Asian, Western, and fusion comfort foods is quite modern. The cinnamon pork stew in particular is a crowd favorite with both the Lao and expat clientele and perfectly accompanied by one of Bouang's signature cocktails. Seats on the porch allow for leisurely people-watching.
