"Le Petit Jardin is one of the best restaurants in Cuenca.
Located in the northwest quadrant of the city, a bit north of Ordoñez Lasso, it is a bit hard to find. Before heading out, check the website to get a copy of the directions and map, Google Maps will not get you there.
Also be sure to make a reservation.
The menu varies each week, and the chef cooks in the traditional French style.
They have both inside and outside seating, along with a well stocked bar.
We visited for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a mushroom tartlet, turkey, and apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Excellent!
For drinks I had a good whisky and my wife had chardonnay.
Service was attentive and prompt without being intrusive.
This is a must visit place in Cuenca."

"The service was perfect, and the food was incredible. We spent the last weekend in Lima, and this restaurant would have stood without problems next to the best places there. The pear tart was savory and fresh, the beef was flavorful, and the chocolate mousse was decadent."
