The hidden terrace at this popular wine bar and shop, near the old fish market, is a rare find. It has superb views across to the forts of Kirchberg. The collection of local wines is naturally excellent, with a decent selection by the glass accompanied by some rather pricey tapas.

Last but not least, another quality wine bar in Luxembourg City is Vinoteca, where true connoisseurs have been meeting for many years. The selection is always impeccable, with a range of timeless vintages and new discoveries. As for the food, it includes a nice entrecote which is not to our disliking…On sunny days, the terrace, with its unobstructed view of the surroundings, is one of the best spots in the capital for lunch or a lingering aperitif.

This is probably Luxembourg’s longest established wine bar, located on rue Wiltheim in historic thousand-year-old stone cellars, for that authentic feel, although it also has a nice summer terrace with stunning views of Kirchberg. Run by award-winning sommelier Rodolphe Chevalier, you can sample about 20 wines by the glass in all price categories, with wines originating from all over the world. Cheese and charcuterie platters are also available.

The restaurant of owner Rodolphe Chevalier, who was named Luxembourg's best sommelier on two occasions, not only offers a wide selection of wines, but also serves tasting plates and barbecue. The terrace is located at the backside of the establishment and completely hidden from the public eye. The decor may be simple, but the terrace still offers a stunning view of the Pfaffenthal quarter.

Vinoteca – Though primarily a wine bar, it’s known for its cocktail creations too. Located near Place d’Armes, Vinoteca offers a sophisticated start to the evening, combining fine wines and unique cocktails in an elegant setting.
