Reviews Summary

Fatt Kee Seafood Restaurant is celebrated for its flavorful fish noodle soups, particularly the signature tom yum and tomato broths, and its fresh seafood ingredients. Diners appreciate the authentic local eatery atmosphere and generous portions. Some find the prices a bit high, and a few mention that the tomato soup can be slightly salty or the fish texture chewier than expected.

"Ordered their coral grouper tomyam, the best. Fish meat is so huge portion, but the price on the high side, rm28. Yet we are satisfy and recommend this place for a bowl of good fish noodle."

lee kuan kwan

"Flavorful fish and seafood noodle soup. Authentic dining experience. Moderately noisy but relaxing environment. Recommend the tomato soup base! A little bit salty for my liking though."

nora

"This is a sliced fish soup restaurant:
- relatively pricey for the type of cuisine but generous portions
- would recommend the tom yum soup base, it’s not too spicey and goes well with the fish
- the fish is fresh but is relatively chewy compared to what I was expecting, as it’s probably a sea fish rather than a freshwater one which we are used to in Singapore.
- there are other seafood options and you can get the soup with rice as well.
- parking available just behind and there is a convenience store and ATM nearby."

Top Places to Check-out in Kota Kinabalu for Delicious Local Food

Fatt Kee Seafood Restaurant is one of the most established restaurants in Kota Kinabalu and it is famous for its sup ikan or fish soup. There are a handful of outlets here in Kota Kinabalu and I actually visited the one located on Level 3 of Suria Sabah Shopping Mall (just across from Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu) which has the worst rating out of all its outlets, so maybe this is not really a fair representation of what the restaurant has to offer. There are two main types of soup bases - tom yum and tomato - and I tried both during my visit.

Next, you can either find Fatt Kee at Hilltop, Luyang, or if you don’t feel like going all the way to Luyang, you could find one inside the shopping mall in Suria Sabah. They serve one of the best fish soup in town; have it either in tomato soup, or if you like it spicy, then opt for the Tom Yam soup!. The best thing is, you can even choose what goes in your soup (fish maw, fish lip, fish ball, fish roe, and many more!) If you don’t like your noodles soaked in the soup, you can order their soy sauce wantan noodles to go with it.
