What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Swee Kang Ais Kacang is celebrated for its delicious and refreshing shaved ice desserts and local savory dishes like Laksa and Rojak. Diners often praise the authentic kopitiam atmosphere and the nostalgic experience. While many rave about the quality and taste, some find certain fried items lacking in flavor or encounter minor issues like flies.
"My friend say this is a must try muslim friendly laksa in Kuching, so I came, fantastic flavour! Thick and creamy, with peeled prawn served, very easy to eat and very fresh. I love their chendol too, must try to order with only red bean, cincao and chendol, with santan milk. They also put Gula Apong in it which makes it much more flavourful. They also has fried pisang tanduk, juicy banana inside and crispy ouster layer."

"Swee Kang Ais Kacang is renowned for its rojak and ais kacang, and for good reason. The rojak is delightfully crunchy, fresh, and packed with fruity flavors, while the ais kacang is a perfect treat—icy, sweet, and deliciously satisfying. However, the cucur udang, though crispy, falls a bit short in flavor and comes across as bland.
That said, this spot is a great choice for a classic Asian tea-time experience, offering a nostalgic and enjoyable vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the mood for some local favorites!"

"Caught up with two cousins over lunch yesterday.
It was an interesting mix of familiar flavours—banana fritters which were crispy on the outside, and meltingly sweet on the inside. The rojak was generous and just right. We also ordered a char kway teow with good "wok hey", together with an assortment of fried treats: cucur udang (prawn fritters), sweet potato and tofu. My favourite was the shaved ice with corn kernels, icy-sweet and comforting. My cousins had theirs with red kidney beans and chendol, a more conventional choice. Perfect on a hot equatorial afternoon."
