What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bunga Raya Popiah is celebrated for its incredibly generous fillings and the addictive crunch of its signature pork lard, making it a must-try Malacca street food. While some find it a unique and delicious departure from traditional popiah, others from northern Malaysian states might prefer different styles. Be prepared for long queues, especially during peak hours and weekends, though many find the wait worthwhile for this sinfully delicious treat.
"This popiah is seriously yummy, my photo only shows half of it! The filling is super generous, and the pork lard inside adds the perfect crunch and flavor. Comes in spicy and non-spicy. It was so good that I went back the next day just to tapau for my friends in KL to try. If you’re going in the evening, be ready to queue, best to time to go is in the morning. Recommended!"

"Passed this place at first and wondered why so many people queue, and a couple of days later I tried to buy it on Monday at 5 p.m.
1 roll of popiah for 7 RM.
This popiah (like a spring roll) is huge, has generous filling, and contains pork. So delicious, and in the middle there is pork lard, so it gives a crunchy sensation when you bite into it.
Even with many locals queuing, it doesn’t take long to get your order.
Worth trying while in Malacca!!"

"This must be the best popiah I ever had. Love the chunky turnips, and thr wrap didn't get soggy. Fun chef making the popiah was very friendly. Was lucky to visit during weekday, no queue. Will be back!"

An adequate amount of juicy fillings are wrapped inside the popiah, accompanied by its usual chili and sweet sauce, in addition to having pork lard and fried dry chili paste for a more succulent taste!

Located outside Madam King’s Department Store, this takeaway stall has been around for a long long time, and it’s famous for the generous amount of park lard in it. I am not a big fan of popiah, hence I don’t have it often, but people around me swear it’s the best popiah in Melaka.
