"Guadalajara Eats 2024 #12, Taco #26, Barbacoa #3: I originally ate here two years ago and ended up having it 5 times. Because I liked it so much I never made it to Barbacoa Arturo.
This trip, I made a point to try Arturo. I then came back to Tacos Juan the day after to compare. IMO it's no contest. Tacos Juan is better than Arturo in every category: food, service, atmosphere, and price.
The barbacoa itself is much better as are the tortillas AND salsas. The one thing I'll give Arturo is they provide cebollitas asadas (though maybe you can ask for that here?).
I think the service is better here, and it's so, so much more comfortable to eat here. The tacos are $1 MXN cheaper here, too. I'm so sad I didn't have more time to eat here again. I personally also prefer Tacos Juan's barbacoa to any birria I ate in Guadalajara."
