What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Yunaites is celebrated as an amazing hidden gem within Guadalajara's Mercado IV Centenario, offering an authentic and elevated Mexican fonda experience. Diners rave about the fresh, sophisticated, and reasonably priced dishes, as well as the lively atmosphere. However, some guests have noted inconsistent service attitudes and the long waits for the popular communal table.
"This place is located in a Mercado. You sit on a long communal table. No reservations accepted. That said the food is amazing. The plates are small and great for sharing. I recommend to start at the top of the menu order 3 items share with one other person. Then go back and try the next three items till you try the whole menu."

"Cool little place inside of a small market. There is nice and lively atmosphere with lots of locals and the restaurant’s open kitchen. :-)
We got to the restaurant at 11 am on Sunday and waited for 15 minutes or so after listing our name.
The food is fresh, sophisticated, and reasonably priced. Each plate was small, however, it was all satisfying because of its presentation.
We will come back for more soon!"

Guadalajara: A Food Lover's Guide
A more recent newcomer on the Guadalajara breakfast/brunch scene, but a guaranteed hit since it is another creation of the famous local chef Fabian Delgado of Palreal and other popular spots. Reminiscent of a traditional ‘fonda’ style restaurant within a market, there is an open kitchen where you can watch the cooks make handmade blue corn tortillas and fresh salsas and a single communal table surrounded by greenery. It is a simple concept with a small but extremely flavorful and colorful menu using artisanal ingredients and recipes that originate from surrounding rural towns.

On Searching for Mexico, Longoria visited several eateries in Guadalajara, referencing the city’s “new generation of food pioneers.” Among them, chef Fabian Delgado Padilla’s outposts Café palReal (C. Lope de Vega 113, in the trendy Colonia Americana neighborhood) and Yunaites, a stall with more affordable fare in the Mercado IV Centenario market (Calle Garibaldi 824). At both places, Longoria indulged in variations of pork belly with mole dulce sauce.
