Reviews Summary

Miyabi | El Árbol is celebrated for its stunning ambiance and high-quality sushi with inventive flavor combinations. While the food is largely praised, some diners have found certain dishes, like the ramen, to be less impressive, and service can occasionally be slow. The unique setting, however, makes it a memorable dining destination. Reddit+1 [^M1]

"Went to the El Arbol location and the vibe and atmosphere is super cool and chill but unfortunately we were seated upstairs in the glass area which felt the opposite of the atmosphere in the main restaurant. I was really disappointed that we weren't seated in the main restaurant, although there were many open tables not being used. I'm assuming because we didn't have any reservations. They seated us upstairs. Before I keep going on and on about this issue which really wasn't that big of a deal. But nonetheless, the food was really good which is the most important part.

1. Chigue ramen : this was a very tasty and excellent dish
2. Mars roll - amazing roll with high quality ingredients.

I really liked the chili peppers they brought out along with the soy sauce.

This is a pricey restaurant but well worth it when it comes to sushi."

Aaron

"I ate my best sushis there. I have been 4 times and never been disappointed. The atmosphere is very peaceful and unique, feeling like Japan. I truly recommend ! (Customer service is not the best though)"

Clement F

"Very stylish Japanese restaurant with a chilly atmosphere, relaxed music not too loud. Typical japanese food you might know from other places. Very good quality, combined with the atmosphere its a nice place to stay with friends or family. Very friendly staff and quick service."

The Casual Restaurant Critic recently had the opportunity to have dinner at the new Miyabi location on Prolongacion Montejo at 17 street, in the Colonia Mexico section of northern Merida. It is in a little shopping plaza called Plaza Arbolm named after the a rbol (tree) that was incorporated in spectacular fashion into the design of the new Miyabi restaurant. The sushi is as good as usual, nothing new to report there, and they are working out some kinks with the service due to the fact that waiters that want to work in a very busy environment are hard to come by, according to one of the owners.

This is, for sure, the most authentic sushi you’ll find in Mérida. We eat here a couple of times a month for our raw fish fix. It’s important to know that Mexican sushi restaurants will generally add cream cheese to most sushi but you can always ask for it without, and the same goes for the Mexican-style soy sauce (soy with lime) if you’re a purist.

Even with our love for all the yummy Mexican tacos, we crave sushi from time to time!. Miyabi El Arbol is a popular spot located at the end of Paseo Montejo avenue and it’s worth the effort to take an Uber there. They have thoughtfully decorated this location with hints of classic Japanese designs like a koi pond.
