Here lies a foodie oasis, with dishes and drinks crafted around ingredients found on the 25-acre property's farm, or sourced from local ranchers and fishermen. Opened in 2016 by Stuart McPherson and Cam Watt, owner of Vancouver's renowned The Keefer Bar, Acre has quickly become one of the leaders of San José's thriving locavore movement.

This 25-acre farmette on the outskirts of San José del Cabo has just about everything: citrus orchards, vegetable gardens, a pool, a bocce court, a restaurant, and a breezy, outdoor bar, where beverage director Dani Tatarin has built an impressive menu of mezcal-forward cocktails. Tatarin, who once helmed Vancouver’s Keefer Bar, harvests produce from the property’s garden to make her own liqueurs, syrups, and infusions. Patio tiles from Guadalajara and ceramics from Oaxaca give the lush property a modern Mexican feel, and this winter they will open twelve tree-house style accommodations amid the palm trees on the property.

They asked right away if there were any dietary restrictions (by the way every restaurant in Cabo had asked us without fail which is so so nice). We ordered a few appetizers for the table including cheddar biscuits, fried Brussels sprouts (had pumpkin seeds but clearly labeled) a beef wagyu taco and soft shell crab taco (the Brussels sprouts were amazing) and my daughter had the shrimp pasta and a fun cocktail (something called bitter and sweet)—the only nuts we saw on food items were pistachios (we have seen at most restaurants but haven’t seen cashews really anywhere) and they also had a cocktail with peanut butter!

Acre is a beautiful, luxurious restaurant located in the Acre Resort near San Jose del Cabo. This restaurant is perfect for a fancy night out or a special occasion. They have a few vegan options on the menu, and the waitstaff were very accommodating when we asked questions about what was and wasn’t plant based.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard of the beautiful Acre Baja hotel. Many know it as one of the top wedding venues, others love it as a couple’s getaway because their treehouses are amazing. But then there are others, like me, that love it for their rescue puppies and donkey, Burrito.

These include Flora's Field Kitchen, led by chef Rebecca Weitzman, and Acre, located at Acre Resort and led by chef Arturo Rivero. These restaurants showcased their endeavors to source local products from their own farms, feature producers and artisans, reduce waste and support their local communities.

We did not have time to visit Acre Bar & Restaurant, but it came highly recommended. If you have the time, it sounds pretty amazing!. Similar to Flora Farms, arrive early for your reservation so you can explore.

I’m always up for having a great dining experience in beautiful places like Flora Farms or Acre but am focused on the never-ending quest to find that little hole-in-the-wall serving just a few special dishes.

This is a cool hotel with a delicious farm to table restaurant and an animal sanctuary. I’ve seen a few other bloggers visit Acre recently, so I wanted to put it on my to do list. It did not disappoint.

Brett and Britt went here before they went to dinner at Acre. It’s a nice place to walk around for an hour or so. There are lots of cute little shops, art galleries and restaurants to pop into.
