Beach Town comprises hotels, shops, and restaurants between the North and Middle Zones. This is the best part of Tulum to stay for partying and exciting nightlife, especially since dining and drinking here are cheaper than in the rest of the beach area. The beach is sandy and swimmable, and the restaurants and shops are either in the jungle or by the beach.

From dusk until midnight, Pepe slings homemade tacos and tortas from his little cart, assisted by family members. You can go the safe route with the al pastor and carne asada, but Pepe speaks glowingly about his signature camaron con coco (coconut shrimp).

Get ready to wait for 10 to 20 minutes because lines start forming as soon as they open at 6 p.m. But the wait is totally worth it: the stall is very clean, the service is quick and super friendly, and the value for money is the best in Tulum – only 20-30 pesos per taco, generously filled!. They also offer delicious tortas for just 60 pesos.

El Carboncito is a no-frills taqueria in Tulum that serves up some of the best tacos in town. The tacos al pastor are the star of the show, but the chorizo and beef tacos are also amazing. The meat is cooked over a wood fire, and the tacos are served with all the fixings, including pineapple, cilantro, onions, and a variety of salsas.
