Mega Loft

Easy to find and with a Moroccan menu – albeit a rather pricy one – the ambiance here is bohemian and the vibe chilled. There’s regular live music as well as unique décor; think Berber baskets lining the walls and ceilings, chandeliers made from teapots, and old sewing tables upcycled to dining tables, while retro seating lines the patio area. This is a great place to spend a cooler afternoon in Essaouira, sipping tea and enjoying the atmosphere.

Located in vibrant Morocco, Mega Loft is a fascinating multi-level restaurant, offering guests a unique mix of tasty food, excellent service, and an unforgettable ambiance. Ascend through its three intriguing floors to reach the much-acclaimed rooftop terrace, where you can soak in the stunning views of the bustling market street below. The rooftop is also home to a skilled DJ who keeps the atmosphere lively with a mix of lounge music throughout the night.On the culinary front, Mega Loft offers an array of delectable dishes.

Aladdin’s cave-esque Mega Loft has a decidedly 1970s design scheme – orange and black lacquer circular chairs, old movie posters on the walls and even blue leather suitcases nailed to the ceiling. There’s a shop attached, exhibition space downstairs, and a rooftop bar that overlooks the medina, plus live music most nights. Dishes span fresh fish and Mediterranean dishes but, be warned: there’s no alcohol.

For a contemporary twist, Mega Loft features traditional berber baskets on the walls and ceiling. Tabletops are newspaper-cartoon strips from the 60s and a live band strikes up in the evenings to entertain diners. This restaurant cross art gallery is resplendent with colour inside and out, alongside a menu that takes advantage of the fresh seafood that arrives in the harbour each day.

Spread over four floors, Mega Loft affords superb views over the medina from their rooftop and is open late for those that are looking for something low key, compared to Taros (the popular Essaouira nightclub). Although alcohol is served here, it’s also an excellent spot for your mid-day caffeine fix with rooftop views. We also love the funky interior design here.

Mega Loft is a cool and authentic cafe/restaurant, gallery and shop located in the heart of the Medina. People had raved about their visit to this cute hub and we were not disappointed with live music every night. We were serenaded with good tunes as we drunk the best mojitos on this side of Africa enjoyed the delicious #foodblogger foods.

Mega Loft is a four-floored, bohemian-style café and art gallery located in the centre of Essaouira. Reflecting the artsy community that Essaouira attracts, Mega Loft has a warm, funky, laid-back feel to it. Mega Loft serves as the chill older brother to Taros, also staying open until late but catering to a mellower crowd.

The ones I would add to your must eat list are: Layounne, The Loft, Mega Loft, Taros (for a beer or juice on the roof- the food here was much pricier than other places as its in the main square). Our favorite spot to sit at the beach was the Ion Club. Great smoothies and juices, the pizza was also quite good!.

I’ve been to MEGA Loft a bunch of times and have mixed feelings about this restaurant/bar/ cafe in Essaouira. First of all, the decor is lovely and this space is HUGE. So, thoroughly explore this 4-floor building and take tons of o photos of the super Instagrammable decor.

Mega Loft, adjacent to Skala Qddama, the old picturesque fortress, is owned by Essaouira native, Othman. His brand, Othman Chic, fuses old with new. Tables, chairs and other decor are designed by up-cycling finds from the souk (market).

Terrible name I know, but it had good reviews so off we went. That whole Google maps thing caught us out again and we were about to abandon the search when we stumbled across it at what we thought was a dead end. And I'm so glad we did!

Mega Loft OthmanChic is visually stunning, with huge potential. 🌟 Now, we have to be honest—the hamburgers didn’t quite hit the mark for us, and the service was a bit lacking. But hey, maybe we caught them on an off day.

Tout le monde nous a parlés du Méga Loft et on comprend pourquoi ce bistrot branché à la déco kitch propose des plats locaux revisités plutôt canon. En plus un groupe vient y jouer tous les soirs.

While I moved into my meeting, I noticed a slight sound of live music playing from a restaurant, and I was so glad that I took the time to actually appreciate the environment.
