Blue Ribbon Marrakech

Tucked at the back of an old Art Deco shopping mall is this cute café and adjacent farm shop. They are the brain child of Aziz Nahas and Benjamin Pastor and are the showcase for the abundant organic produce from Aziz’s regenerative farm, Sanctuary Slimane. Come early for a breakfast bagel with fresh jben (goat’s cheese) or shokupan (milk bread) with blackberry butter; arrive later for lunch and choose from delicious organic salads brimming with crunchy veg, nuts and herb dressing or toasts and sandwiches including the signature mustard chicken banh mi; or just come for tea and freshly baked cakes.

What grows there appears on the menu at his Blue Ribbon bakery, which opened last spring in the city's hip Gueliz neighborhood. The adjacent Farm Slimane sells seasonal produce within an elegant Art Deco arcade, which will soon house a restaurant, a wine bar, and a Morocco-centric bookstore.

It’s the love child of Aziz Nahas, the owner of organic farm Sanctuary Slimane, and one-time French restauranteur Benjamin Pastor. They serve the most delicious breakfast bagel with smoked salmon and goats cheese, dill, onion pickles and sweet and sour cucumber, which all come from the farm.

The menu reads like it’s been created with health and nature in mind, and you feel good just reading it. Drink options include seasonal fresh juices, protein shakes, and hot drinks, including specialty coffee, iced coffees, teas, and matcha. Food-wise, pastries, toasted bagels, sandwiches, and salads are available.
