If I had to pick one romantic dinner spot in Marrakech — it’s this one. The glowing pool, lanterns, and quiet garden vibe make it perfect for a special night. We literally heard Happy Birthday six times — so you know it’s the spot for celebrations. The lamb risotto and octopus salad? Still thinking about them. If you want that poolside table, book the côté piscine section. And come just before sun...

Reviews Summary

Le Foundouk offers a beautiful ambiance and stunning rooftop views, making it a popular choice for romantic dinners and sunset experiences. While many praise the Moroccan dishes, particularly the tagines and couscous, some find the food to be average or overpriced for the quality, with occasional issues in starters or service speed. The romantic atmosphere and attentive staff are consistent highlights.

"Amazing Moroccan restaurant with authentic cuisine and a fabulous terrace. The food was full of flavor and tradition, and the staff made the evening feel very special. The atmosphere is charming and warm, making it the perfect choice for a romantic dinner while enjoying the beauty of Marrakesh at night. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a true Moroccan dining experience."

Steppy

"The food is average. Good Tajin but starters are not at the expected level for the price. Small quantities and poor quality.
Atmosphere is nice, and we tried a good Moroccan wine.
I wouldn’t go back because of the high price, quality of food and slowness in serving, but the restaurant is ok, definitely not a scam."

Emiliano Sallustri

"Sadly the food here was very disappointing. We ordered spring rolls which were cold and slimey very odd texture. Expected them to be served hot and crispy. Meatballs had an odd taste, unfortunately I just ate round them and had a little amount of the spaghetti. Staff were lovely but it was very slow service and food did take a very long time"

Foundouk is just past the Museum and Medersa so it is a straightforward 10-15 min walk from El Zohar, but take care, as it is trickier coming back!. There is a turning to the right you can miss on the walk back if you don’t mark it well on the way. This place is in a lovely setting, features attentive staff, and generally good à la carte food, although occasionally you may get a duff dish (but do complain).

A foundouk is a traditional merchant’s inn, and while many today are used as artisan workshops, this one has been stylishly reimagined as a contemporary dining den. Save this one for an evening meal in quintessentially Moroccan surrounds – think terracotta walls, aqua-tiled tables and gold accents. Rooftop tables tend to the smaller size and are perfect for tête-à-tête’s over a piping-hot tagine.
