Loved by locals and visitors alike, Dar Naji is one of the city's most authentically Moroccan, medina-based restaurants and features interesting dishes more often found in Moroccan homes. Look for trid (soft layers of pastry layered with a meaty sauce) and medfouna (a rustic stuffed bread). Prices are reasonable, and the salads, tagines, and couscous dishes are top quality.

Dar Naji has an exceptional reputation that has brought tourists from all over the world to enjoy a variety of authentic Morocco dishes and their very famous and delicious mint tea made from natural Mint leaves.

This lovely restaurant is just west of the Bab El Had of the Medina and offers possibly the best combination of Moroccan cuisine and stellar views of the city. The large menu has plenty of exotic Moroccan dishes that you probably haven’t heard of, along with many staples like tagines and couscous. If you’re dining with a few people, go for the salade dada, which comes with all of the spreads on the menu, including zaalouk, takfouka and bakala.

It is a great idea to have lunch and, above all, dinner at this restaurant, facing the Medina wall (on the outside). In addition to the authenticity of its cuisine (typical and very tasty), we must add the affability and professionalism of its waiters, who wear traditional costumes. If the weather is fine, the best thing to do is choose one of the tables on the upper terrace and let yourself be guided by the restaurant staff.

For about 80 MAD per person, you can enjoy a hearty meal featuring tender chicken, flavorful beef, or rich vegetarian tagines accompanied by refreshing beverages.

Dar Naji (rue Jazirat Al Arab) is famed in Rabat for traditional Moroccan cuisine. Combinations like lamb and prune or chicken and lemon are served in the piping hot tajine itself and eaten with a wheel of bread, used to soak up the juices. Dar Naji is also known for rfissa, a traditional dish of chicken, lentils, and onions served on a nest of shredded flatbread.

Dar Naji seems to be the most frequented restaurant by tourists. It has a nice atmosphere to it and you can sit with a large group at a big table and share some local dishes. However, I didn’t like how they pushed their selection onto us and brought mainly chicken tajine and mountains of cold appetizers, so it would have been better to let us choose ourselves.

With three restaurants, near Bab el Had, in Agdal, and in Menzeh, Dar Naji serves a variety of Moroccan foods. The restaurant, with beautiful Moroccan decor, caters to small and large groups with beautiful and delicious platters of rfissa (trid au poulet), couscous, bastilla, and a variety of tagines. The prices are generally reasonable as well.

Like Kasr Al Assil, Dar Naji was one of our favorite traditional Moroccan restaurants in Rabat. It’s located just outside the medina, across the street from its western wall. They serve typical Moroccan dishes like tajine, tride, couscous, and brochette on a lovely terrace overlooking the medina’s walls.

Our first day in Morocco, my friend and I came here and were told that Ramadan has a fixed menu. We chose a chicken and beef!. We all loved the food in our casserole, they had so much flavor!
