What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Restaurant Ahlen is highly praised for its authentic and delicious Moroccan cuisine, particularly the tagines and couscous. Diners consistently commend the generous portions and reasonable prices, making it a great value. The warm hospitality and friendly service further enhance the dining experience, although some note that food might be slightly less flavorful than other top-tier establishments.
"It's a very small place and we chose it based on the Google reviews.
Went in a bit hesitant after last night dinner fiasco in an other restaurant...
This place was filled with foreigner tourists, we didn't know what to expect as we usually love to eat in the restaurants that local people eat - that is usually a sign of it's authentic taste and quality if it's approved by localities.
We were up for a treat and pleasant experience.
Food was lovely, service fast and very attentive.
We asked for the dishes that they had already made as we were in a hurry for an appointment and only had 1hr to rat
We got 2 soups, 2 chips, aubergine dish, lamb couscous.
And starter which came as a bread, cheese and olives.
It was lovely and enough for 2 adults.
Nice authentic taste.
One of our children is vegetarian so soup and aubergine with chips was a good option as she didn't want to have tajini.
And price wise also very good considering it is a prime location, we paid around £20 for everything.
I highly recommend this place ......as it serves authentic food and is super popular with tourists 😃"

"My girlfriend and I are vegetarian and this was one of our favorite restaurants in Morocco! Especially the Zaalouk was fantastic, but we also loved the vegetarian couscous.
Service was great and super friendly.
The Toilet was also fine when we were there, in contrast to what we read in other comments.
Great place, would recommend it to my friends!"

I throughly enjoyed my couscous lamb lunch here! The meat was amazingly flavorful and tender; it truly fell of the bone. Nice chunks of vegetables well balanced out the protein and, as expected, the couscous was perfect!
I was told that restaurants in Morocco only serve couscous on Friday. Although I was there on a Friday, I also noticed that, there was no note on the menu stating 'Only Available on Friday,' unless I missed it. So if you are craving couscous, on any day of the week, you can satisfy it here!
Of course, I also witnessed a few ultra high tea pour performances as well!
A couple reviews mentioned many tourist dining and questioned the authenticity of the food. That may be a seasonal experience.
When I arrived, there appeared to be mostly locals in this cosy family friendly resto. And, there is no doubt that they are serving the real deal here. ENJOY!!"
